Guys, guys, guys, lets put things in perspective.

28 vans for the Victorian State Titles is a lousy turnout.

If Victoria is the state with the most vans in Australia and it was the STATE titles, there should have been at least 100 vans.

Even going by the name of "STATE titles", there should have been more mini-State Titles leading up to it, true???

I think the title of the event should have been the "Victorian Van Together" or "Victorian Mini-Nationals".

If there were a Top 10 for Victorian Vans plus 1 Trophy for Interstate Van and RunnerUp, means that there were 12 trophies, which on the law of averages is 12/28 = 43%, or in other words, you had a 43% chance of winning a trophy. The odds were obviously higher if you were from Victoria.

However, be that as it may, I must say congratulations to Troy, for winning a trophy.

I still think 28 vans is a good turnout, you have to be realistic Sean they dont get many more than that to the van nats, and if they keep holding it in isolated locations that suit the select few than in a couple of years time 28 vans might be considered a good turnout.

And if just 2 interstate MV members had turned up they would have got a trophy also, making 3 in total for MV. Bearing in mind it's not club against club, it's about the vans.

I don't think we need to get into a discussion about how or where an event should be run as it's up to the organisers to work all that out. They will never please everyone and some cannot be pleased at all.

What we should focus on is MV and where it's going and what we can do to make vanning better for MV. It's up to us to set an example of what vanning is about in this day and age and i think we are doing a pretty good job at the moment.

Of course if I'm wrong I'm happy for anyone to correct me with what I have said.

I think we're doing alright to mate, the more shows we can attend the more publicity we get as a group, the more cards we hand out, the more magazine coverage and members we get on here the better for MV and vanning.
I think it's all about getting as many van enthusiasts as we can together, whether it's at a run or on this forum.
Cheers Rob

Great work Troy, I handed out another couple today, keep them in the van and wallet. Seems to be every time I park the van somewhere there's always someone waiting for you to come back to talk about vans!
