UTEZNVANZ Ute, Van, Wagon Show - Mildura 19th October 2013
UTEZNVANz are also hosting the 2014 Van Nationals, so this will be a good opportunity to check out the area.
See Flyer below and additional information:
From Lynelle Wenham, UTEZNVANZ:
The flyer does not have the latest info on it.
The main two things that have been added is that camping will be available on site for the 3 nights of the actual mildura show. This is camping for sleeping in your vehicle or with a swag or small tent not for a camper trailer or caravan as space does not permit.
Showers and toilets available but no power.
Enquire for details.
As we have been able to get the camping we are now looking at holding a light display on the Friday night ahead of the main competition on the Saturday. Awards will be given for the best ute light display and best van light display.
Entries are now open. Within the next 2 weeks Entry forms forms with the category criteria with show ground rules as well; should be available to download from our website like the nats one already is.
It is possible we will be having a Top 5 Wagon Competition as well. If you know anyone with a Show Wagon please get them to contact us...
I have copies of the Entry Forms etc. if you need them sooner.
Link to UTEZNVANS Site: UTEZNVANZ
UTEZNVANZ Members will be attending our October Van-In. I encourage everyone to reciprocate to Show Vanning is alive and well.

Ashley went.
He has pics up on WasteBook.
We'll have to ask him nicely if he will post them up here.
Also UTEZNVANZ have plenty up on their WasteBook page and possibly their WebSite by now.

Really in the interests of Vanning. Item's and stories posted on facebook should relisted/posted on the forum for those who don't use facebook (for multiple and varying reasons) and for those who like things in an orderly searchable fashion.

I'm not a WasteBook Fan either.
It was handy for getting the Van-In out there though.
I too encourage all to post pics on here.

Re: UTEZNVANZ Ute, Van, Wagon Show - Mildura 19th October 2013
I can understand that some people have reservations about facebook, but it is hard to deny the power of social media and the ease of being able to post and share your pictures, particularly on mobile devices.
I am yet to find a way in which I can load photos to the forum from my phone, I can do virtually everything else on it...
In instances like when we were at the Van-In it is all to simple to take a picture, press share to facebook, and two seconds later it is on the MV facebook page for all to see. To get it on the forum takes me at least 30 seconds for each photo, and I had to wait till I was at home on the netbook with network access to load all my photos.
The complicated way in which you have to load photos to the forum compared to facebook probably puts a few people off.
I always try to share all my pictures on both mediums, and encourage others to do the same. I will see if I can find UTEZNVANZ pics and stick them up on here...

Not all! That's the issue, unless you give up all your information and make yourself a trackable entity succumb to the "ease". All to an offshore company that shows no morals. One day it is going to blow up, mark my words.HQVAN wrote:In instances like when we were at the Van-In it is all to simple to take a picture, press share to facebook, and two seconds later it is on the MV facebook page for all to see.
Those who can't upload images to a forum are unlikely to ever build or show anything of note. Because it is simply beyond their capabilities, effort or care factor.
Forums are social media with an acceptable set of rules. Snapbucket is Photobucket's answer for mobiles but you still have to add the URL.

Wow, that is quite a statement there Smooth. But I doubt having poor computer skills has any bearing on their ability to build anything...sinbin wrote:

Yeah...... I'm not sure I agree with that either. I've built a lot of stuff that's appeared in magazines and won trophies, put in a huge effort in everything I do, and care a lot about what I do.HQVAN wrote:Wow, that is quite a statement there Smooth. Re: UTEZNVANZ Ute, Van, Wagon Show - Mildura 19th October 2013
All I'm saying is that when people have put the effort in to write tutorials on how (to post pictures) and offered on many occasions to personally help, show or explain the process people still shrug their shoulders and say it's too hard I can't work it out. So things like face book are the easy option but not in the best interests of this forum.
I'm sure if you really wanted to know how to post pictures here on the forum you would work it out. 90% of people do!
The process is exactly the same throughout the Internet so it's a skill worth learning.
It's a 123 process:
Every image needs to be uploaded on to a server.
Every image on a server has a URL (address)
Place that URL address between some image tags
As for me taking a broadside at all people taking soft options I don't apologise.
People returning personal shots at me. That's your choice!
Anyway, it's great to finally see some pictures of the Mildura event. Good job and many thanks for making them available to forum members.

Re: UTEZNVANZ Ute, Van, Wagon Show - Mildura 19th October 2013
Thanks for posting the photos guys. Not sure how they went attendance wise, but Mildura's a fair hike for most, so it's interesting to see what was on show.
SMOOTH, you make a good point, I should stop crying about photos being too hard to post, and actually have a go (as the Chinese say "the learning is in the doing"). Some time in the next week, I'll have a crack at it...
Cheers all.
