I'll be there if I can get time off of work, for which I have already given notice.

We received a "Best Attended Club" Award from the 2013 Van Nats.  The challenge is to do the same in 2014.

Don't forget to put MAJESTIC VANNERS Australia on your Entry Form and that you want to Camp with the rest of your Club Members.

How is everyones entries going?

I got ours in a couple of weeks ago, looking forward to catching up with everyone!   

We are trying to get everyone to put their entries in as quick as you can so that we can secure an area for us all to camp together. It will also give us an indication of the number of members that will be attending.

Remember we were the best represented club at last years Nationals and it would be good to follow that up again this year with another strong presence.

Be sure to put Majestic Vanners on your entry form!

Due to financial restraints Cherone and I will not be
attending this year &will have to be squares until the 2015 van nats(hopefully Bathurst).
     

Adrian and I arent fussed on camping and hence dont own any camping gear so we have managed to find reasonably priced accommodation in Mildura today and booked it so we will be there :-)

The Mildura Easter Open - Tennis
18-21 April
AMT Championship singles and doubles. A, B, C, D Graded knockout singles, A, B, C, D Graded round robin doubles and mixed doubles. 10s, 12s, & 14s Boys and Girls Singles and Doubles. The Mildura Easter Open Tournament is played on some of the best natural grass courts in Australia. This is your chance to participate in some grat social tennis right here in Mildura. Bar facilities available. Bring own tennis equipment. Starts at approximately 8am.

Easter Powersports Show and Shine
18 April
The Easter Powersports weekend is a significant event on the Mildura events calendar. Easter Powersports comprises of four sporting clubs who run major sporting competitions over the long weekend. These clubs include: Mildura Ski Club, Sunraysia Drag Racing Association, Timmis Speedway and Mildura Motorcycle Club. The Show and Shine which is held on the Good Friday each year, provides a showcase of all the various powersport vehicles in a vibrant and exciting atmosphere. Be ready for the mighty roar from some big, fast and furious machines. Time: 9am-1pm.

Easter Powersports - Mildura Speedway
18 April
This is a big weekend for racing with a massive $10,000 to win. Late Model Spectacular and the AMCA Nationals All Stars Championship will burn up the track. With over 20 Late Models already showing interest. Craig Vosbergan has won the last two years, so drivers will be out to take the cash from him this year. AMCA Nationals numbers are on the increase across Australia but this event is well liked because it's a chance to have a holiday in beautiful Mildura and put in some serious hard racing against the best in the country. Also hitting the track this Good Friday is the first round of hte SA Wingless Sprints Easter Trail. This is the fastest growing class in the country with local numbers on the increase yearly, and with the larger class numbers, the racing is improving and drivers are becoming more daring. To round out Friday night's racing is the Paige McCarthy Beart Trophy for Street Stocks. This event has been reintroduced to honour this brave little girl and keep the legacy in all our hearts. Fully catered. No BYO by law. So grab your comfy chair and set yourself for some of the best speedwa action at Australia's Friendliest Family Speedway.

Mildura City Market
18 April
Find a gift among the many stalls that have lovely items for sale. There are crafts, socks, clothing, home cooking, fruit and vegetabes as well as jams, honey, pickles and dried fruit. You will also find jewellery, natural beauty products, books, plants, fancy cards, woodwork items, bric-a-brac and locally made boomerangs and didgeridoos. The market is managed by the Loddon Mallee Region Girld Guides. If you are interested in having a stall with us, ring 0400 032 803 Monday to Friday, 9am-6pm. Market insurance is available.

39th Australian Van Nationals
19 April
This event comprises of four days of activities which will see the vans travelling to various local attractions and venues. Saturday, 19 April, will see a family gala event open to the public which includes the one day Show and Shine and National Competition. There is one van that takes out the title of Australian Van of the Year; a widely sought after title in the van circuit. There is also other competitions and vehicle categories that win prizes. This competition originated in Mildura in the 1970s and hosted the first four nationals. The last time Mildura saw this event was in 1979, so it is with great excitement to bring it back home!

Mildura 100 Ski Race
19-20 April
The Mildura 100 Ski Race is a 100km Ski Race Competition which is part of the Ski Race Australia's official competition calendar. Each boat tows skiers with the top superclass entrants exceeding speeds of over 180kph. Raced along the Murray River to Wicketts Sandbar. Starts 8.30am.

Mildura Wentworth Easter Rowing Regatta
19-20 April
This annual Rowing Regatta is part of Rowing Victoria's Calendar of Events. The Regatta is held each year in Mildura on Saturday and Wentworh on Sunday. The 2014 Regatta will be the 91st annual regatta. Competitors come form country and metropolitan Victoria and South Australia as well as local clubs. There is plenty of action on the water and lots of activities for the spectator. Come and see the teams compete on Australia's two mighty rivers.

Sunraysia Farmers' Market
19 April
On the banks of the Murray River, under huge old red gums, Sunraysia Farmers' Market is not just a revelation of local produce but a wonderful social event held at the picturesque Ornamental Lakes. A great way to start your market experience is with breakfast using fresh produce direct from the market. The racing will continue as Night 2 of the AMCA All Stars Championship and the Late Model Spectacular with a massive $10,000 up for grabs. Merbein Street Market
20 April
The Merbein Street Market is held on the third Sunday of each month. You will find local and interstate stalls selling fresh produce, home made goodies, arts and crafts and bric-a-brac and free entertainment. The second-hand shops will also be open where you can search for some hidden treasure. Time: 8am-1pm.

Steam Pump Running Day
20 April
The steam driven engine and pumps were designed by George Chaffey and provided irrigation water for Mildura from 1891 to 1959. The unique design is the only operational one of its kind in the world. The engine and pumps were built in England by Tangye in 1889-90 and installed and commissioned at Mildura in 1891. Admission: Adults $4.00 and Family $10.00. Time: 10am-4pm.

As the Sunday has basically been refered to as a free day for vanners we have been discussing plans as to what the club can do on that day.

We have this basic run down for us:

Go for a cruise to a friend of Ron Frank's (who had the mini panelvan at the van-in) who owns a car collection that we are all able to check out.

From there we will cruise to the photo opportunity at the homestead that VANRAT was shot out the front of for CV&T.

We will then got to dinner at a local RSL (as there is no meal supplied Sunday) before we head back for the auction and presentations in the evening.

Please let us know here if you are interested in joining us for the meal as we will need to make the booking as soon as possible.
