Black Saturday Remembrance Cruise
Who is up for this event on Saturday?

I am thinking about heading to this, then joining the Melbourne Old School Cruisers Mega Cruise to Mornington from BP Eastlink.

Yes Gregory Sanbox was in attendance as was the Red Van with the new BIG Cam. The event was extremely well organised, CFA got on board with traffic management. Everybody met at Lilydale, cruised through Yarra Glen up to the Kinglake turn off at top of the slide turned right through Toolangi to Healesville. All cars parked at memorial park near Railway station. There was a brief service held for the 173 lives lost on Black Saturday 2009. After which a band played. Fletch was in attendance so keep an eye on channel 31.

Re: Black Saturday Remembrance Cruise
Yes, it was a great day, and an event which is for a cause that is close to home for me. I grew up in Marysville, a town completely wiped out in the Black Saturday Fires so it was touching to see this event and how it has grown since its inception. This is the first one I have attended, but was something that I always wanted to be a part of. It was well organised and was enjoyed by over 600 entrants.
It was great to see the locals with their families sitting out the front of their homes along the cruise route waving to the convoy as it made it way through some of the fire affected communities.
Once we arrived in Healesville there was a band performing throughout the day and a emotional ceremony held to remember the victims of the Black Saturday Bushfires.
As I was a bit further back in the convoy, Joe & Angelique, along with Roddy, saved me a spot so we could park the three vans together. We had an enjoyable afternoon and finished with a picnic dinner behind the vans.
I highly recommend getting along to this event and checking it out for yourselves. I didn't get any photos myself, but I will see if I can find some albums of the event on their events page on facebook. There was a great and varied array of vehicles on display.
