Hi i posted on here but in the wrong spot i think earlier today so forgive me as i am just learning about these sort of chat rooms.
i have the opportunity to buy a 77 XC van windowless, tail gate 302 4 speed van complete. it has been in a shed for 18 years and has not run in that time.
It is all complete but is very dirty and covered in dirt and bird poo.
I have limited skills but my plan is to get it cleaned up, running and roadworthy for club rego and see what happens after that.
I am buying it from a mate and he is not going to sell it to anyone else.
I want to give him the right price for it but i am not sure what that is??
I am a ford guy through and through and this will be my in the shed project to keep me busy.
i met a member of the club and that is how i am on here looking for guidance as it has been nearly impossible to price the van.
From what i know there are not a lot of these about now days.
i would put a pic up but i cant work out how to.
It has minimal rust and one of the rear bumpers is pushed in from a knock.
The original bonnet is not with the car as it is damaged but i can grab it as well as the one that's on it now but it is the wrong colour.
thanks
Paul

Re: paulxc1977VAN
Yeah I see $4 to 7K range with this one.
It looks a pretty neat thing covered in years of crap and no side windows is what adds the value.

Hi Paul,
Welcome to the forum, good to see another Ford guy on here.
I notice in the pictures it has GS grille and factory 12 slot wheels. To clarify your earlier post, you mean it has a top and bottom tailgate (as opposed to the side by side barn doors)?
If so, check the compliance plate to see if the chassis number starts with JG45 (being Falcon 500 van), or JG47 (Falcon Sundowner van). Sundowners are pretty rare, and you could order them from the dealer without the distinctive stripes.
Regardless, a fair selling price is whatever you and your friend are both comfortable with. As a guide I'd agree with the other comments above, stating $5-$7k.

Wow there's some potential there under that bird sh1t, and I'm a Holden guy.
Windowless and factory V8 is rare and a good investment. Honestly you cant go wrong with this one.
Cheers Rob
