Hydraulic or rat trap clutch?

Post  master6 on Thu 06 Aug 2015, 8:14 am

I have all mechanicals from a HK and HG.
Question is, which is the better system?
Hydraulic or rat trap?

Hydraulic is way more reliable than a 40 yr old rat trap
They will take a Lot heavier pressure plate and will make it easier on the left leg once set up properly.
The only problems with hydraulic is the slave/master alignment must be straight & if using a kit such as dellow's the plastic line can burst of the fitting's.But that can be easily fixed by installing a hard/braided line
The rat traps would be getting on in age and tended to jam up then snap loose when new ,so you could imagine what there like at 40yr old
