Chop top HJ van on Gumtree with interesting history

Post  Blue Victor on Sat 16 Apr 2016, 4:49 pm

Howdy folks

surfing on the Tree and found this for sale

http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/blackalls-park/wrecking/holden-hj-panelvan-chopped-custom/1110078727

That made me wonder what became of the chopped HQ? shark grill van that featured as a project build back in Street and Custom magazine days. From memory the editor Bruce Flynn bought it but then the magazine disappeared. So I googled shark holden van which led to this

http://www.mysandman.com.au/forums/showthread.php/3971-ozbox-shed.

The muralled van is also on gumtree

Does anyone know what became of the chopped shark van?

That is "ALIEN" and I once owned it. It is a HQ not a HJ.

Where did you spot it?

Regards, Smooth Cool

Edit: Sorry I see you have modified your earlier posts.
The "shark" is "ALIEN". Bruce never owned it although he tried.

With a little bit of searching the forum you'll pretty
much find out about a lot of the old vans, even play cat & van rat.
The amount of info from people on here is amazing ..... ebay
