I’ve been flat out at work lately, but I hit the ute hard yesterday and I’m very close to rego now. Got all the insulation down and fitted the carpet and put the console and seats back in. I’ve just got to finish the tray and Dazed is done ???? After the tray it’s just those little odd jobs left, I’m looking forward to driving it!

Thanks for the kind words. I’ve finally started on the rear tray. I’ve carpeted the wheel arches and got all my timber in. Should have all the carpet in over Easter, then it’ll be off to get rego, finally. It’s been a long road but it’s been worth it.

Carpet in the rear will certainly tidy things up.

I hope all goes well with your Rego. ff

I’m making the tray similar to how it was originally. I shouldn’t have any dramas with rego but you just never know.

Thanks, I certainly like it. I made some 3mm MDF board templates for the sides and back and cut out the carpet for these areas. Just need to glue them now and the trays done. It’s coming together nicely.

When’s the van in?
I done a bit more on the tray today, finally glued the marine carpet to the sides and back. Came up pretty good seeing it’s my first go at any type of upholstery. Hard parts are done I reckon, the floor should be straight forward.

Looking good ,
Marine carpet is pretty forgiving when using as trim ,has a bit of give and then fluff's up to
cover any imperfections..
The van in is on the October long weekend.
You have a choice of Hervey Bay with Rusty and the crew or Albury with us left overs affraid
Even have a feeling this year you maybe able to go to SA. aswell...

i always found marine carpet to be very stiff and unforgiving when doing the fit outs in my boats but id guess it comes down what you buy

Hi Dean
I used it when I did car audio fit outs ,on rear parcel shelf , in boots for amp/ subwoofer boards
etc. maybe it's just a different brand with a softer backing which made it easy..
Who knows .. confused

Top Job Jason! job rock terrific

The Albury/Wodonga and the Hervey Bay Van-Ins are on from Friday 28th September to Monday 1st October. SA might also get up, with a Strong Possibility of WA doing something as well, both of which may run a format of a Van-Run without a Show n Shine.
