Re: Dazed & Confused HJ ute
Finished painting the block today, so I've just got to fit the chrome rocker covers and it's done. I think it looks pretty good, sure was a lot of work but well worth it. It'll be fitted into the engine bay next weekend.

Always great to see a Survivor, especially when it's being given some love again.

Re: Dazed & Confused HJ ute
Thanks Rusty it's certainly in great condition and I'm glad to be the custodian of Dazed. If it ends up only half as good as the way Wayne built it I'd be happy

Re: Dazed & Confused HJ ute
Dazed finally has a motor again; had some free time this afternoon so I decided to put the motor in with my beautiful and always helpful wife. I've got some minor touch ups to do but it looks better than I thought. Chrome rocker covers will be here on Monday so it'll look even better when they're fitted.

Fitted the tail shaft and done the last of the painting for the undercarriage required for the time being. The bonnet will look good when the oval filter is fitted.

Re: Dazed & Confused HJ ute
Glad you painted the diff housing ,That looked shocking with all the advertising on it.
Once you finish the ute I think youlll have to get stuck into what looks like a van sitting under the
cover next to it...

Re: Dazed & Confused HJ ute
I bought these today, which looks better, the 12 Slotters or the turbines? I'm undecided at present, I must admit the turbines look pretty old school and are what Dazed wore when it was the van Seducer....decisions.

Re: Dazed & Confused HJ ute
I must admit the turbines are really growing on me. Yeah u don't see them anymore so being different and standing out is always a good thing with any car, van or ute....they were a very cool rim back in the day that's for sure

Re: Dazed & Confused HJ ute
I too have a soft spot for the polished Turbines, especially when they get to the wider sizes with plenty of dish.

Re: Dazed & Confused HJ ute
Rocker covers finally arrived a long wait for no apparent reason, they look good. A little bit more colour coding and some braided hoses and it'll b all done. Slowly but surely it's all coming together.

Re: Dazed & Confused HJ ute
Just got back from a week away so done some more on the motor colour scheme. Done some orange hi-lights to bolt threads, bolt head caps, carby spacer and throttle arms. Also made up some scolloped guards like Dazed originally had but not sure about them. They'll probably look better painted matt black or chromed.

Re: Dazed & Confused HJ ute
The scollapped guard shape is a hard one to get right,
Making the shape fit in with the rest of the engine bay and show off the front suspension at they same time..

Re: Dazed & Confused HJ ute
Bough a polished 14" oval air cleaner, certainly finishes off the engine properly. This will look good until I can fit that tunnel ram into my budget.
