Hi guys, new here and hope you can help :)
Hi Guys, thanks for adding me to your group.
I'm buying a HX Kingswood PV that the guy tells me was a show car in WA in the 80's. It was Persian Sand MK11, (metallic baby poo), with murals of Conan the barbarian on both sides in a viking helmet with a battle axe. The whole interior was a gold velour, very well done and every part that could be chromed has been, eg the whole rear diff housing from wheel to wheel, leaf springs and all front suspension, wheel arches etc.
Now for the hard question: Does anyone out there in PV world remember this van, or have a huge collection of Street Machine mag's that may have pic's or even better, a write up on this toy? If not, is there a good place to start on Google. Thanks for any help guys.
I have since found a name of a van that could be the one, Street Angel.

Not much of a welcome hey Dion?
Seems Facebook has finally killed this forum (or put it to sleep!).
Good luck finding your van, I have nothing on any van called "Street Angel".
Best known Glitter Poo van was "Centrefold".
You never know though, someone might come through with info.
Regards, Smooth

Thanks for the replies guys, Nice Van serendipity, but alas, the wrong one......had fun looking thru all the vans tho so not a total loss.
Yeah Smooth, it's a Perth van. rescued from a paddock with trees growing thru the floor. All body is fixed now and will be a project for the next few years.

Hi Dion,
I'm another non-facebooker, so still using the forum here.
I'll have a look through CV&T and other mags I have, but if no one else has found a definite match I doubt I will. You never know though, someone's got to remember it.....
Good luck with the rebuild, sounds like an interesting van to start with.

Welcome Dion. Do you have a pic at all. Don't think this is it as its the wrong colour but the murals sound similar. I'll keep looking through all the van pics I have which is plenty.

Re: Hi guys, new here and hope you can help :)
Thanks for looking for me guys, Sandman, your right buddy, this ain't easy . Thanks for having a look for me Jabba. It's a windowless HX and the mural was at the rear more over the wheel arch. I'm 49 now and am sure when I had my HJ Panel Van I was perving on this van, but they could all just be blending together haha.

Welcome to the Forum Dion.
Your new Van sounds very interesting and very Nice!
As suggested, a photo or 2 of the Van would help point us in a direction. I'd be very interested to see them. There is a "How To' here on the Forum if you struggle to post pics; or let us know and one of us will point you in the right direction.
Good Luck!

Re: Hi guys, new here and hope you can help :)
Well done on posting the Pics Dion.
The Van appears to be in really good nick as you said. It'll be a good Project.
Your old HJ Van looks really Schmick!
Are there any pics of your current Van with the Murals etc.? There's not a lot to go on in it's stripped down state. There were so many Cool Vans back in the day that never made it into magazines.
Hopefully someone will have some pics hidden away somewhere.

Re: Hi guys, new here and hope you can help :)
Thanks Rusty and Sam, sorry Rusty, don't have any pic's of what she used to look like, and Sam, If only it was as easy as a clean and seats haha, this is going to go on for quite a while, tho rare spares look like they have most the stuff I will need. It's painted in 2pac satin black, but he started block sanding the pass side rear above the wheel arch, so I was thinking Aquarius?? there's something about that light blue haha, but not sure yet. Was looking at all the members vans on here and it makes it hard

Hi Dion
Welcome to the forum...
Sorry I've been slow on the up take of your thread been busy at home...
I do remember a Persian sand coloured van at a van Nats around 1989,
It was as you described it chrome everything underneath , 9" diff and cellica 5 Spd .
But for the life of me I don't remember the motor (chev 350 comes to mind )
I do remember talking to the owner and ask "Why the 5spd" and his answer was because of the long distant drives he did in it...
He was also a member of the Panther Van club..
At this stage I don't think it had murals on it..

Hi Dion,
Have you actually purchase this Van yet?
If so it would be good to know what colours have been used over the years on it.
Where is the information coming from about the name, colour, murals and chrome?
Regards, Smooth

Hey Neil,
Where'd you pull that from?
The plate looks to be a SA plate (maybe TAS) HJ 253
Pretty sure Dion is chasing a WA HX 253.
Lov'n the Kelly Superchargers boots on the rear!

Here's another one that meets the mural description you mentioned.
Unlikely to be it but hey! Any excuse for another Van to get a mention...

Gidday Guys
From what I've been told, one of the Guys on the Forum took photos of his Computer Screen (from the Forum and elsewhere) and saved them on a Stick Drive that was sent to Arron Hayes who has been posting them all over WasteBook. Hence the POOR Quality.
The top photo is actually one of mine and will be here on the Forum. I took it at a show in Maryborough in the early/mid 80's. At that time the Van was owned by a Bloke from Bundaberg if my memory serves me correct.
The 2nd photo isn't mine and definitely was taken at a different location. If it's the same Van, it has a different interior to the one I have photos of.
When I find my Old Laptop and get it set up I'll post up my original pics.

Surely not? Nobody steals photos from the Internet!
Hence why I don't offer too many and others I do in Flash version or watermarked only.
Not that this is defence proof but it slows the dummies down.
I look forward to seeing the higher resolution images.

Yes they are from waste book ,
They just happen to be posted up as I was reading through this thread and fitted the description
Along with my memory of it..
The van was defently at one of the Albury Holbrook van Nats between 88-92

Re: Hi guys, new here and hope you can help :)
Here is the Van that Dion is looking for 100%
Originally it was owned and built by Brett Robinson from Mt Hawthorne W.A 1985
It was sold and the next owner Colin Xavier got it to this stage (yeah the colour looks different but it's the same car and just printed wrong)
Apparently also from Mt Hawthorne, W.A.
Love the bonnet emblem on backwards!
How the mighty got neglected....
