Re: Best way to build speaker boxes
Spent a few years doing car audio in my spare time when i was abit younger. I used to use 10mm mdf and for 2x12" subs, an enclosure of about 60-80ltrs. Too large or too small an area and they wont have the punch. Vent ports are available at supashit. And speaker carpet(the stretchy stuff) can be bought from any car audio installer.

MDF is good for standard boxes. If you want a more organic look you go for glass.
There are enclosure size calculators online. Different cars will have their own resonant frequency and you need to set things up to suit that for best sound. There are heaps of books around for setting up systems, but if you just want it in there without the messing about you build a box out of mdf.
