SINSITY Van Club
I was looking thru some old photos of my van and found a photo with a couple of sincity club stickers in the engine bay and it got me thinking about what happened to the club, was it a big club etc.
Also got me thinking if my van had been in any show etc years ago. When i bought it there was quite a few bits that were chromed and the back was decked out etc all though by the time i bought it she was a bit old.
Original plates were GM893

No name on it.
It was Venetion red. gold pin striping with a swan in it. It had the coffin racks on the roof and engine bay had full braid lines.

I was a member of Sinsity Van Club and so was my mate, who now has an EJ windowless van.
Does this bring back memories?

SinCity passion and corruption they both get you places
Sincity was quite a great club in its day, early on they were into the show scene but then were more into the social scene going on great van runs and just having fun. The club did included wagons, but they were phased out when the numbers grew I joined in the early eighties becoming treasurer in the mid eighties then became president for several years and helped in returning it to the show scene. Easter Nats had us dominating the club events a couple of times. Later the club numbers dropped to an all time low and they started allowing in custom cars which i think caused there demise. All in all I have some great memories, and hopefully so do the members back then. I actually still have my t-shirts and Jacket plus a few window decalls, who knows they may be back one day.
Best regards
Robert

Re: SINSITY Van Club
Thanks for the warm welcome, good to see some things never change with vanners. Just to let you all know I still have the van and with a little luck and hard work may have it back on the scene early next year. then there are all those photos of Vans from yesteryear which nobody has seen for ages, which i need to convert to files before my memory fades.
Neil should remember me, had a hand in his Van along the way, and a story or two especially about o'rings on oil filter being extremely important on a new motor !
