Building boxes for the rear of your van.
I'm just about to start building the side boxes,whats the best base material,to build the frame out of steel or wood.I was going to use 1"/2" pine to build them ,but i thought i might buy some 1/2 in square tube and weld the frames up.Anybody used steel instead of wood,i think the benefits of steel is you can shape it to what you need. For all them strange angles,

Half inch angle sounds like it would suit your needs.

depends what are you better at welding or joinery ?

I'm no good at ether,but $14 for 6mtrs of steel v $5 a mtr for wood.Steel looks goodfc59 wrote:depends what are you better at welding or joinery ?
