Re: Introduce yourself Here!
Hi all my names Jake Smith, Live in Batlow, was a relation of Rob and used to work with him also. Should've joined the club long ago !!! Used to own a HJ van I named 'Pamela the panelvan' which rob tryd to persuade me to sell him a few times with no success. I recently sold it to my father to buy my property ( which is why I never joined the majestics ) but I will someday own it again

Re: Introduce yourself Here!
A HUGE Welcome Aboard to all the Newbies.
Unfortunately I haven't been on here as much as i used to be. A lot happening in my little world.
Once I've finally finished Packing and Moving, I'll have a reliable internet connection and should get things back up to speed.
I look forward to getting to know you all.

RE introduce yourself
Hi All,
My son Corbin and I (Scott) are undertaking an EJ panel van project. Its been sitting in the shed for several years after being bought site unseen off Ebay.
We recently did an Escort van as my sons first car - since sold
I have had many wagons but most regretful is letting go of my HZ sandman van
being forced to retire should give time to get EJ on the road
cheers
Scott

Re: Introduce yourself Here!
Welcome Scott ,
Who's the Ej van for you or your son ?
There's a couple of Ej's here on the forum so you won't be out of place.
Being forced to retire is not a good thing ,so I hope it's not health related.
But it will give you time for the Ej,
Feel free to start a build thread on it : So we all can watch too....

What a great father son project, I look forward to following your journey in restoring it together. Be sure to start a thread on your build in the 'Your Project' or 'Your Van' section.
Hope you enjoy your time here!
Cheers,
Karl

Re: Introduce yourself Here!
Hi everyone, my name is Peter. My wife (Staish) and I have recently purchased a HQ van and will be slowly building it up as a toy for her to drive and enjoy. I myself have had a couple of vans in the past and really enjoyed driving them. I currently have a HQ Monaro that I've restored over the past 18 years. But seeing I've built my dream car, it's now time to build hers, and hope to be able to use this forum to give us ideas and inspiration to get it built into something we can both be proud of.
Thanks for letting me join up, and hopefully will talk to you all in the future.
Pete.

Re: Introduce yourself Here!
Hi all,
My name is Preston. I currently live in New York USA, but I'm originally from Trinidad in the West Indies. I used to own a HX Kingswood SL sedan back in the day...yep..Holden GMH exported the HK and the HQ sedans called a Holden Belmont , the HJ to HX Kingswood sedans and station wagons, and the VB, VC Commodores to Trinidad...lol! I have even seen a few HQ Monaro Coupes there as well as one HX Monaro. We never got the Utes or the Panel Vans. This was back in the '70s.
Anywho...Fast forward to a few years ago, I'm an RC addict, who just discovered scratch building scale RC cars and trucks, and wanted to build a HX station wagon. After digging around on the Internet for pics , I found out about the overlander versions, and fell head over heels for the sandman panel vans. So decided to build one at 1/10 scale.
It's almost ready for paint and I thought I would look for some classic van murals, which is what brought me to this site! It's been an ongoing project for the last 2 1/2 years...lol!

Re: Introduce yourself Here!
Hi guys new to the forum. Finished a couple of months back a replica of the Holden Dealer Team support van that they used for the rally team in the late 70's - early 80's. It was a copy of one of the 4 vans used to service the Commodores on the 1979 Repco Round Australia Trial. I plan to use the van as a service vehicle at club level rallies that various mates compete in from time to time.
I need to finish the bullbar, driving lights and CB to get it to the correct spec. I also have to finish wiring up a 12V compressor and inverter plus fit the roll away storage draws.

Re : Introduce yourself here!
Hey Preston love ya work that's a great likeness of the HX
I can appreciate the amount of work you've put into this as I have built highly modified 25th scale trucks
With scratch built trailers for many years.
Did you plug form or vac form the body???
The body lines look very crisp
Van On Joe.

Re: Introduce yourself Here!
Oh yea...almost forgot the engine bay....the engine houses a 540 size RC motor and its mated to a scale tranny that outputs to a transfer case then to the diffs via driveshafts...also rigged up a hood latch with magnets that's servo activated to remotely 'pop' the hood...the servo is hidden with the faux car battery..lol!

Hi fellow Vanners
My name is Sue .. How do you do ..hahaha
Thanks for letting me be a part of this wonderful group.
I have been bitten by the Van bug and I am currently restoring my HQ Panelvan with my Partner Greg who is very handy doing all the body work, spraying and mechanical work. I am chief sander, polisher, auto electrician, masker, and interior chief. We have almost finished her and hoping to drive her to Hervey Bay for the Van In. Its been so much fun and very satisfying to look at the van and say we did it all ourselves. Cant think of a better hobby to do together.
We are looking forward to meeting everyone at Hervey Bay. Thank you

Welcome to the Forum Sue ,
I'm sure you will enjoy your weekend at Harvey bay ..
There is nothing more satisfying than knowing that you have built your own van
and what a way to spend the time together
We would love to see a few pictures or even a build thread on your van ...
