Freestyler's Ute

I'm going to drop another member in it here, and give everyone a link to the progress shots of his ute:

Some nice paint work under way there Freestyler! Should look great when it's all done.

It is looking good Perry. It seems we're all building utes now! Rhino, SMQQTH, me, Freestyler.

Utes are cool - wish I could get that HQ Sandman Ute that was on evilbay a while back.

I saw some pictures of a Panel Van that was converted to a ute a while back.

If I can find the link or the pictures I'll put them up here. Personally, I think it's a no-go to convert a van to a ute, but other would disagree.

Was that the van that was called Blue Image?
I remember seeing it on EBAY and it had a different dash in it.

im with u pez. i think panel van should stay as a pano. seems cruel to cut one up. if it was really rusted out the whole roof i can see y someone would make it a ute. but there r enough nice utes around

that ute looks really good too, coming along nicely

Got busy again this week & got some colour on the beastie.....
Will bolt her all back together, new windscreen getting fitted Friday.
More rubbing thanks for the tips Al, blackouts & more clear, then buffing....

Hope to have the decals all on before the end of the year, x-mas now not a go-go.

Looks great Allan. Nice shine straight off the gun. Are you around over Christmas / New Year? I might make a day trip down the highway to check it out in person

The colours called,

'Ally Welly's Kermit Lettuce Alone Citric Lime Green'

A mouth-full is'nt it.
No codes mixed this up myself with a few bases from the local paint shop.
Was based on a Ford Citric Acid (that's what it was originally), just added some blue crap till i liked it.

I love pink, i'd love an Orchid Metallic HQ Sandman or LH Torana. Probably build a Pink LH.

Yeah buddy going all out with the mock-up.
Got a set of purple/blue/orange sandman stripes, 14x8" all round gts wheels, full black reupholstered interiour, tinted windows, P/s, looking to lower & a front spoiler on route....

Just done the blackouts, another 1200grit rub down, more clear, sand then buff, then stickers....
Wow that's loads when you write it all down, couple of busy days coming up.

Although finished colour sanding today, even got the tailgate buffed,
decided to add the money shot, been a long time coming...



Probably finish off a little more clear tomorrow over blackouts, then more buffing & assembly of front end, and start putting the goodies back inside.
By the new year, she'll be very close.

Got into an argument with a guy the other day that Sandman Ute's don't exist, and that being said at the end of the day it's only a Holden Ute.... Pffftttt - i saw red!!!!
