It was made up by the guys that want to keep our roads safe.  what do you expect. Something you can read. 

Along the same lines, does anyone know if there's somewhere on the RTA website to download "Rules for Authorised Inspection Stations". It's a key document for determining roadworthiness, and I'd like a copy for reference instead of constantly asking my mechanic questions....

Well don't just tease me man, how'd you get it....
Is it a downloadable thing or would I need to physically photocopy an existing one?

I got mine a few years back when I did the course to become an authorised examiner.

I can't see why you wouldn't be able to buy one off the RTA or maybe ask your local mechanic if he can order a replacement?
