A question related to vans???
I justify placing this question here on the following basis :-
1. This vehicle tows the trailer that transports bits for my HG van Project
and
2. I could not get a reply on a Izuzu forum
Here it is:-
My 90 Jackaroo 2.6 litre 4ZE1 has a failed crank angle sensor.
I have partially dismantled the distributor, including removal of the drive cog on the bottom of the shaft.
I need to remove the shaft.
Moderate hitting with a bit of wood at the lower end of the shaft does not budge it.
Question is, does the shaft come out the top of the distributor body, (or the bottom), and how do I get it out?
Do I need to hit harder?
You want to know why I would ask this on a vanners forum......easy........vanners are hands on people.
Thanks,
Jeff

Have a look from the top, is there a c clip around the shaft near the top? We did have some random fussy apart from a jackeroo I think when I was at Holden. If it has a clip it comes out through the bottom.

No C clip. Top of shaft has a flange that the disc sits on. Shaft goes down through middle of crank angle sensor. The disc looks like a permanent press fit.
