2015 Sandman Released - Ute & Wagon.

I saw it on Channel 9 News this morning.

It'll be interesting to see how many Sandman Utes will be converted to Vans.

Ummmm i like the wagon,its not a van but it looks cool.

there has been a lot of hate going around the interwebs about the NEW sandman ute and wagon

my first thought was like smooth and rusty amcat the utes into vans i would love a VF van
but it seems like a big commotion for just 250 cars
couldn't they have struck up a deal with amcat for utes to be converted ?

but what are the specks do you get any thing unique or extra to the sand man
or is it just a marketing ploy

Probably just like the H series vans. Nothing special really, just a sticker kit.

Yes basically a Sticker kit, interior stitching, some wheels and a build plate.
That said it only $3K on top of a SSV so really it's not over the top.

Buy a black Ute send it AMCAT and some nice subtle touches and you'd have a nice desirable thing that people will associate with "Sandman".

I like that Holden have revisited the Sandman name. Pity about the Sportswagon getting the name. It should have been the Sand Piper!

If there going to rehash names , the wagon should be a vacationer..

Wouldn't it be nice to crash Holdens party at Torquey with a dozen or so H-series vans..

Yeah I realise that, but I think they could have rehashed that name and had the Sandman Ute and Sandpiper Sportswagon (seeing as they own the names).
Vacationer just doesn't have anything cool about it. Face it; they blew it by not offering the Ute as a Van.

Think Sandman, Think Panel Van!

3K on top isn't that bad I though it would have been more

It would hardly be crashing it as they have been invited to the launch. They are "W" platform BTW not H series.
HD-HG are "H" series. But I understand why people are confused.

I wonder whether anyone has thought about an engineered bracing kit to enable the rear of a Commodore ute to be removed, thus enabling a REAL van conversion?

Yes. There are pics and information on this Forum. You'll have to wait until I am home from the Van Nats for me to post up a link.
