Can you name that Colour??

I know I may be pushing my luck a bit here.. but I have been seeing colours pop up and get my attention lately. Downside.. I have no idea what most of these colours are. So I thought I might start here, show some pics I have found..and then ask too for examples of colours if anyone can jump in share any information you may have.

i have the same problem i see cars with nice paint and i struggle to work out what they are called

Mind you GMH did like to call the same Colours different names depending whether they were on a HQ or a Torana for example Merry Berry is Velvet Violet.

That Torana is an LX  the colour is an LX colour Royal Plum. Rusty's guess is correct.
The picture is not a very good likeness.
Hope this helps. As for the Ford.... well not sure but Matt did some research and believes the colour is Mystic.

Another reason I am not a big fan of looking up photos online.. the difference is unreal!! But thankyou very much

It is another reason Pete cannot convince me to paint my van back to its original colour of Salamanca Red.. the difference in it when looking online does not make me a fan. I would love to see a van in that colour, but then again, anything in the flesh to compare

So could this also be Royal Plum?

The other factor that is difficult with photos is the reflections of colours around the vehicle, also sunny side V shady side.

Not much help, but if you can get Colour Swatches from an old Paint Shop around Town to look at, it might help.
