Re: NZ coal miners
I hope so.
My step-mother lost her first husband in the Appin Mine Disaster in 1979. Fourteen men died then.
Coal mining has its dangers.
We will pray for their survival.

Re: NZ coal miners
The church bells rang 29 times so we knew it was final and the end of the line. Now 29 miners are at heavens gate with coal silt dirty faces asking is it 2 late? When god replies with half a grin no my children come on in. They place their mining lights gently on heavens floor when ...god said "job well done" leave your boots at the door. Reposted in memory of the 29 miners that died at Pike River Mine

Yeah exactly mate, I found out yesterday an old friend of mine tried to do himself in on Friday, and the only two things I could think about was the miners who died and didn't have a say in it and the day I thought I was dieing here on the loungeroom floor crying with my kids watching.
I might sound selfish but gees I want to see grand kids and my boys grow up and when I heard about my old mate I just thought why would anyone want to end it before you have too?
We all have ups and downs but trust me, when your laying on the floor, crying, holding your chest that feels like it's going to explode thinking to yourself f%ck me this is it, I'm dieing you'll change your out look and never wish your life away again or waste another day.

Re: NZ coal miners
not at all smallvan i borrowed it from facebook just changed the last sentance.
that definately changes ur life rob. very glad ur ok now! ive been on the otherside tho i went thru a very deep depression early on with my injury, and a not so nice ex at the time didnt help. id also been assulted prior to that (not as far as rape but not far off ) being in constant pain, and i didnt know how to escape. so got in my car. nd aimed for a tree. those few moments that the tre loomed up had me thinking, i thought of my family, pets and the good friends i did have. and hit the brakes hardest i ever have. luckily for me the panelvan pulled to the left as its locked up. enough to bypass the tree on happy valley drive. that scared the hell outo of me being that close to doing something so stupid and selfish. but when ur caught so deep in that net, its so hard to keep ur head above water. i then got help to fight the black dog, and get some self esteem back, and acceptance. also finally got rid of the not good ex. now i have a different outlook. and appreciate what i do have. the black dog catches up now and then, but i throw flour on it and make it a white dog i burnt a lot of my drawings that day, whih is the one thing in life i regret as i cant bring them back, nor re create them

Re: NZ coal miners
did any of them have a van?
seriously though, it is rather sad, this is another reason why im hate the mining companys, there playing with peoples lives, and making big money from all the while destroying the earth and making the ground unsafe for future generations, like for instance the upper hunter has a very big mining industry. a few years back they shut down one underground mine in particular that ran under peoples propertys. not long ago an 8 year old boy was out riding his dirt bike in his parents property, and suddenly the ground subsided and the boy fell in broke both legs and was found dead. another death caused by greedy corporations.
