NZ Earthquake - Christchurch

Its terrible news coming from NZ. I hope that no NZ vanner was affected.

God bless those 65 people who have perished so far.

its a sad few recent months fires in WA, floods in QLD, NSW and Vic too i think, and earthquakes in NZ. maybe 2012 isnt so far fetched?

I don't know whether anyone else noticed, but there was a point, early on in the Christchurch crisis, when they ran out of ambulances to ferry the injured from the local makeshift triage centres to the hospitals. They were squeezing patients into the back of 4wd's and SUV's, and I thought that if the authorities had thought to contact the local vanners, they could have taken advantage of the superior loadspace of the vans, as well as a more comfortable ride.

Any comments?

Good point Bruce, they've copped it bad in NZ and QLD lately.

Your idea was good but getting the local vanners to do anything for nothing would be short of a miricale as the fact remains unless el presidante does it first the sheep will not follow.And that about sums up the local van club that i am no longer a member of.
And yes we were right in the firing line as we lost our house and 80 per cent of our belongings, and my V8 merc was damaged, but unlike some we are alive and just lets say thank god for insurance companies and thanks to all the Aussies whom helped
