What do you do for crust
After seeing how well MV worked together to get that bonnet scoop freighted I thought I would see what everyone does for work.
There might be a way that someones profession can help out other people plus im a sticky beak / nosey prick and thought it would be interesting haha.
I am the sales manager / customer service rep for a plywood mill. Basically this means we make plywood and ship it all over Aus.
Any types of plywood from hoop pine and radiator faced ply to formply that formworkers use.
So if you need some wood for your van fit outs I may be able to help out a bit haha

Re: What do you do for crust
spray painter by trade, injury has seen the end of that, so ive been stuck dealing with workcover for 3 years now. getting somewhere finally. injury is permanent, so will be on the disability pension in the future. so for now, i am getting into para equestrian, rescuing animals in need that jsut find their way here, trying to restore my van, sand it with my feet! doing a bit of left handed art work (i was right handed) and trying to find a path in life to follow. i also have some hours in light aircraft, but cant fly them now, was going to follow that job avenue before i became a spray painter haha.
Re: What do you do for crust
fitter/machinist/welder apprenticeship as a windmill engineer, yes they are still around and people still need them. it is a dying art though. we are the only buisness in nsw who makes brand new parts, rebuilds old ones, erects them and services them. we also sell solar pumps in a combo with a new mill.
heres something i made at work yesterday
its an 8ft comet hub that the wheel bolts to and the crank goes through. its an interesting job

Re: What do you do for crust
After 15 years as a gigalo, i just couldnt take it any longer. Haha, Nah, Im a Highway Heavy Haulage Techniction, or truck driver to most. Ive only ever been a driver, carting anything all over aust, from single trailer to triples, flattops to tankers. Until today! Ive just bought my first truck and am about to give it a go as an owner. The mines and gas projects in WA, are providing plenty of work, so time to jump in on the action. Im proud to be able to show my mv family my newest addition, before anyone else. Freightliner Argosy. 110' cab. 140tonne rated. Cat C16 @ 600. 18 speed and 4.56 ratio diffs for all those in the know. Entire driveline is less than 100000kms old, and in truck terms, thats barely run in. Back to pulling triples up north again in about a week.

Re: What do you do for crust
I did two years of engineering and was sick of being a poor student so I decided to take a year off
studying to get some money and buy a car.I got a job at a bakery as a dish pig and then they started showing me stuff and then after a while I was doing all the pastry work.Thirty years later I have my
own bakery with 15 employees.I work in the kitchen in the morning and sit on my ass in the arvo
surfing the net or playing on my forklift.

Automotive restoration/ sheet metal fabrication.
Do subcontract work for panel shops when they get older cars in. Old school repair with oxy, lead, english wheel, etc etc. If it has plastic bumpers i don't even look at it.

those r awesome shots!!! do u have anymore you might share with us?
thats cool majestic theres not al ot of places around that do the old lead loading repairs. its hard to find the products to do it here. id rather do that on the van than use body filler for little bits. but alas, cannot find it anywhere, even where idid trade school they r low on supplies
