Has anyone used the enamel paint put out by 3M saw it at a super cheap for about $100 a 4 litre can and is there much difference between the acrylic type and enamel paint, which one would you use?

i am not a painter but my experience is acrylic, you can rub back and cut to a shine, enamel you paint on a hot day if you don't have an oven , and hope for the best....

watch out for enamel, it can react with itself!! that cheap enamel most prob would. out of those stick wiht acrylic. i painted a mining generator in bright yellow enamel. gosh it was a pest. in a booth, and everything done correctly, it first reacted with the primer, then itself, and couldnt bake it. haha. that ws in ideal painting situations too. enamel is not your friend Smile (im not a huge fan of acrylic either, but at least acrylic does play nice sometimes)

Smile yeah its unpredictable stuff haha. other times it can be fine and dandy!

if ur not using water based basecoats or anything, the cooler slightly damp weather (providing isnt actually raining of course) of temps around 22 to 24 are perfect for spraying at home. the damper air means heavier air, which keeps dust/etc down, and helps overspray sink straight out of the way to the ground and stay there Smile those temps are ideal paint temps as well.

So ,what your saying is that humidity of about 60 70% is OK to spray im about 100 ks from the sunshine coast QLD. AT THE MOMENT ITS ABOUT 30' I SPOSE..... so as long as the regulator water bottle draws out the moisture its OK with acrylic?..... i know personally with furniture lacquers.
(Nitrocellulose) high humidity would give a milky appearance we'd fix it by mixing 50/50 retarder thinner and lac. and lightly "fogging" over the job.............. sometimes in this game ya just want to aargh thanks for the insight if i have anymore paint dramas ill get back 2 u thumbsup

get a good respirator and lots of dollar plastic drop sheets from bunnies, hang them around the vanport and tie or tape them down where you can , if you get light headed whilst spraying, that is only the memories of life in the 70's, gets you in the groove.. afro
