Is the burnout van a Val or Ford? Really like the orange WB but cant understand why you'd run earlier model tail lights, WB look heaps better and doesn't really fit in but thats me. They'd be illegal, I'm sure SMQQTH will disagree about which look better too!

Re: Spotted at Charters Towers Swap Meet and Car Show 2011
That WB looks great. As for the tail lights i've got a set of early ones as I was toying with the idea of swapping the
WB ones for them, but I think with the WB Stato rear bumper on then only the WB ones will suit.

It's a Valiant CL I believe that is what prompted me to snap its' picture looked really too tidy for a skid car, the 318 although lazy sounded strong too!
Re: Spotted at Charters Towers Swap Meet and Car Show 2011
I'm pretty sure the burnout van is a Valiant.
As for the tailights I think I would have to side with SMQQTH on that one! But thats because I love my chrome.
If your running a WB rear bumper though I would have to agree with you bogan cruiser, stick with your WB ones.

Re: Spotted at Charters Towers Swap Meet and Car Show 2011
The only issue with putting early tail lights in a WB is WB's dont have side blinkers at the back so they'd be defectable. Plus it comes down to taste and personal preference..........WB tail lights are the best!!!!

Re: Spotted at Charters Towers Swap Meet and Car Show 2011
Thanks Neil.
I've never been a Fan of the full side windows, but I actually don't mind them on this Orange Van. Go figure.
As for WB Tail Lights But everyone is entitled to their own opinion, isn't that right Rob?
I fitted WB Statesman Rubbers to my Wagon Rear Bar. I think they match the Tinted Tail Lights quite well.
They'll fit HJ-Z. Might fit HQ with some mods.
Regards
Rusty!

Statesman rubber looks tops on your wagon Rusty, suits the tinted tailights perfectly.

Re: Spotted at Charters Towers Swap Meet and Car Show 2011
They are unusual on this van in that they make it stand out from a crowd BUT at certain angles they appear not straight! I measured as much as I could without touching of course and they are straight just don't look it sometimes. will speak to the owner when he comes up for our show.Rusty62TransAm wrote:Thanks Neil.

Be great to get him on here Neil! I think the unusual thing about the side windows is that it looks like they follow the lower ute/van line? Might just be the pics too, where as most vans follow the upper panel recess line. That make sense? Freestylers old magenta van had full length windows and I really thought it looked trick.

OMG Rusty! Did you move everything out of the way and push the old girl out into the sunlight? Looks great - does that mean we might see it on the road again soon?
Re: Spotted at Charters Towers Swap Meet and Car Show 2011
Gidday Perry.
It was at least a year ago.
I moved what I needed, put up the Ramps drove it out.
It'll only be on the road if I can get Club Rego. I don't get the chance to drive it very often.
Hoping for next year. Two Kids at Uni puts a strain on the Wallet as many of you will know.

This is exactly what I am considering for my van...any chance of Majestics getting recognised as a club eligible for club registrations?

Gidday Karl
Interestingly, this is something on the Agenda.
A few of us are hoping to get together later this month and talk about formalising a few things.
We'll see where we go from there.

Re: Spotted at Charters Towers Swap Meet and Car Show 2011
Excellent Rusty!
Keep me posted....
The rego for three cars (my daily, the family car and the van) is killing me on one income, and there is no way I want the van to run out of rego! Luckily they have all been paid for the year now so I have some time to sort out an alternative.

Re: Spotted at Charters Towers Swap Meet and Car Show 2011
A friend of mine is a glazier and started out in the late 70's doing car glass. He's doing up a HZ Sandman
at the moment with factory side windows and factory glass which is quite rare. The glass he has is slightly curved
to match the contour of the body unlike after market glass that was just flat.I think that's the subtle difference
why some vans look good with windows and some don't.I will try and take a picture when I see him next.
