Re: venting topic
sounds like you have had as much fun over weekend as we did! dam boat!!
but it is frustrating, helping someone and not even a thanks i have always been the one to help any one and everyone any way i can, and im always the one who no one helps LOL!!
but my vent!!! well, took boat out for first time in ages on weekend. was running good temp all day. new water pump working well. take it out in the arvo with a mate behind on biscuit. i start to smell a weird smell, but at first we think its left over smell from the bilge pump (it had not turned off earlier in the day so melted wires and stank-boats wiring needs re doing!) but then go a bit further, smell getting worse, as OH to check if its something going under engine cover. he lifts cover and BOOM! i stop and turn boat off. lots of heat, then swollowed up by black smoke. poor luke (OH) has a burnt foot from boiling hot coolant. Then i panic as cannot see anything in the black smoke, then when i cant see i lose my balance, so then i couldnt get out of the drivers seat as i couldnt get up. at this point we were thinking something was on fire. Other friend came and helped me out. luckily i was the only one who took a phone! so called our other mates for help. smoke cleared enough for us to see. so tediously engine cover lifted again. nothing on fire.(we had fire extinguisher at the ready) but coolant hose has split the full length! we are not sure where all the black smoke came from. but was a rather scary experience. not sure why there was enough pressure to explode hose like that. hoping not a head gasket slowly leaking and building up pressure. but that was the only hose that has not recently been replaced( first time out after service, etc) so steam burn, luke has liquid burn. im already in the middle of a fibro flare up so this hasnt helped. was having a great time until then!!
should have known the day was going to suck, first thing in morning found a huntsman in the fridge then a cow in my horses paddock??? then couldnt get bikini on as felt like sand paper on my skin stupid fibro, then huge skippy up dirt road!! (i will box kick it in the face if it hits any of our cars!) poor barry boat. glad my hands arenumb to not feel the steam burn. face was sore though.

Ouch Leonie, sounds like your day turned crappy pretty quick, ski boats are high maintanence due to the periods where they sit unused, carby gaskets dry out, fuel goes stale etc. Glad I haven't got one!
Hope your feeling better soon and the burns aren't to bad.
Cheers Rob

Well my turn here we go: I did a huge favor for a guy I know who wanted his mates car put on Club rego with my car club which Im one of the Club rego officers.
He told me if I did this favor for him without waiting the usual time ( 6 Months) he would paint my GTS rims that I just got widened and made into 15 inch, Called him today and said I will pick up the wheels tommorrow and drop them at his work shop, OH NO he says i havnt got the time to do them and I am selling my shop and you will have to do them yourself, Thanks buddy, favor returned- NOT.....

Re: venting topic
wow yeah report him for improper use definately!!!! thats so rude.
haha yeah that is pretty much my thoughts on barry at the min!! though it does get run at least once a month through winter. we 'plug' it up to the garden hose burns are not too bad, just like a weird sunburn really. lukes foot is pretty bad, blister is so big on his big toe. he has had to go to work in flip flops all week as he cant get a shoe on yet.

When you go out of your way to help someone and make their day even after all the crap they've put on you only to get zero thanks or recognition for it, but I've worked out how to fix the issue, next time they need something answer their requests with a polite little "Go yourself champ!"
I'll go have a Valium sandwich now, the more I think about this the crankier I get.
Rant over, breathe slowly, heart rate slowing down, relaxing, Valium kicking in, unicorns appearing.............
The thing is Rob you help these type of people out and all you get is a kick in the guts and the only word for them is a parasite,it has happened to me in the past and now it is a different story,I now only help those out who are genuine people not the false one's who are nice to your face and stab as soon as you turn your back.
Unfortunatly they just take and take and give nothing back I have no time for those people.
Regards Tony.

Re: venting topic
Spending some time reading the latest posts in the forum and now am relaxed again. People making great progress on their builds etc... ahhhh and a happy new year to everyone.
My rant... Save, save save... spent most of the day fooling around with some graphic designs on the computer and ... and... and of course I should have been saving as I went.
Another few hours work and I'm back to where I was and this time I saved it happy again
Happy New year dudes!

I hate people flogging pics off here and posting them on other forums without crediting them to where they come from at least most of us have the curtesy to mention where we got pics from when we post them on here.
