I went to fit my wiper arms last night and they dont stay on the pivots. It seems the splined section of the wiper arm is too big....or the pivot is too small. Is there a difference between HQ-J and HX-Z???????

Not that I know of Graham, they do have a clip that holds them on though, is the clip still there and intact?
Cheers Rob

There are no clips except for the one holding the stabiliser arm on the right hand side. The right hand one is that loose that the pivot turns..... but not the arm.

They run a clip inside them, with your right hand one is the splines inside the arm ok? Not stripped? And although it sounds silly, is it all the way down on the pivot?

Yep, all the way down on the pivot. The splines on both the arm and pivot seem OK. Both the arms slip on and off the pivots with ease....well, to easily to be exact.

Mmmmmmm, very strange. Haven't encounted that. Normally if the splines are good and you push them all the way down the little clip pops out and clips below the bottom of splines. They may have made different sizes, but when I've replaced them, I've just grabbed a spare from the stash and jammed it on and never came across a different sized one?

Yes. HQ have shorter primary arms (cast alloy part on the arm/from wiper arm pivot to first join/pivot on wiper arm its self) on drivers side I'm pretty sure. Will get photo's if needed.

Has anyone else come across this before?
