Re: Club Plates on Modified Cars
Yeah Tony, it just goes to show that there is a fair bit of latitude with regard to what is considered a stock vehicle, which plays directly into our hands.
I have no doubt that if a vehicle is to be registered under the club rego scheme, then it is up to the club and/or it's designated inspectors as to it's elegiblity. Then as long as the owner doesn't abuse the law there should be no problems.
Basically, the club rego is just a continual permit to drive an unregistered (but roadworthy) vehicle on public roads for club runs etc, but as I mentioned in an earlier post, there is room for maintenance runs and tune ups, plus the club can virtually designate an event every day as a club run.
I took my Valiant wagon on a "maintenance run" to the BMX track today (which is where I was when you called, sorry about that) so you can get away with a lot as long as you aren't stupid.
Give me a call again when you get a chance, I always have my phone with me (except when I'm on the BMX track), and we can discuss this further.
Loving this forum by the way.....

Re: Club Plates on Modified Cars
G,day Rob,I have to say it wasn't me that called you mate I don't have your number but we have spoken back in the Aurbun Maccas day's.
The thing with that FC is that it has set a bench mark ,I have spoken to the members of my club who seen it the other night as well and agreed if his club is allowing it and there is nothing coming through the bonnet and no tubs and not sitting on the deck and built tastefully with minor mods there should not be a problem.
I got in contoct with the RTA and they are sending me out a package with what is involved,as soon as it comes and I go through it I will let all the members here know.
Regards Tony.
