Re: Painted vans on TV
James Ellis posted a few pics on facebook of his and a couple of mates vans during the filming of this 'talkin' about your generation' episode. The paint was water based, and all washed off apparently. I would have been pretty wary.... I don't think I would have been game enough to let them do it! I will see if I can grab a couple of the pics. There were before and after shots.
Don't listen to the rumours on old holden, they are neat vans, not just slapped together bombs!

Really like the red WB, very tidy daily driver! Simo would love the Val! Really depends on if damages the paint and of course the main question, How good is your paint to start with???? If it's got 200,000kms and a daily hack with sad paint, who cares???????
Wouldn't let them touch mine, not that desperate to be famous but if I had an old, sad daily hack I'd let them go for it!!!

Re: Painted vans on TV
It's not just the paint their using you have got to worry about, I would imagine they did a fair bit of leaning on the vans to get the paint where they did. Certainly would not do it to mine, my FJ van was used in a short movie up this way and trust me they do not take any care it is just a prop to them.

Re: Painted vans on TV
Good publicity showing the vans...........would've been even better if they didn't bag the guts out of vans though.

Re: Painted vans on TV
The paint was actually coloured hairspray and i tested it weeks before to make sure it did no damage to the paint. It all washed of with water after the filming. They did not lean all over the vans, well no leaning to do any damage, they were given some advise on what not to do before the avent, i would not put friends vans at any risk, insurance was covered, we got paid nicely and it was good promotion for vanning.

Re: Painted vans on TV
Thanks James
I'm pleased to hear that there was no damage to any of the Vans.
None of them would get a job as a Muralist though! They need to stick to their day/night Jobs.
