Re: Every Tradie should have one
That's awesome Dean! But I think your workhorse is in better nick than my van!
Look after it!
I wish had two vans the quality of yours...
And I wish I was game enough to use one as a daily driver. I couldn't live with myself if I destroyed a van!
It's good to see one being used as intended though.

Re: Every Tradie should have one
cheers mate...i do intend to look after it.. the pics hide a bit..yukky rust in gutter above screen, flutes could have been done better and were touched up with a rattle can and a few more touch ups are needed.. have had to spend a few bucks on tune ups, new heater core ,tailshaft balance, gearbox seal, and its sitting back in the radiator shop tonight with a new water pump, radiator clean out etc due to overheating[praying not a head gasket] so that has eaten into bodywork budget...but its fairly straight and a fairly nice example..will repaint down the track...even had a concreter have a shot at me for working out of a sandman... i mentioned it was only a pretend one and its good to see them getting about ...and could he please move his $40 thousand dollar navara[wich was obviously well looked after with dried concrete up the sides covered in scratches and tools laying on the roof and bonnet] out of the way so i could get up to my job site...i know which one gives ya a smile driving to work

Re: Every Tradie should have one
Top work mate.
It looks good. I hope the overheating problems are sorted out for you.
It should give you years of work and enjoyment. I am sure there are going to be plenty of other tradesmen jealous of your ride. (even though the ones they are driving cost a lot more!)
Cheers,
Karl.

Re: Every Tradie should have one
i have to work on modern tradies utes vans ect and all i can say is what a wast of money
i was working on a new bord ranger today and if you dont close the doors fully i mean realy slam them the driving lights stay on to remind you the doors open and when the battery is flat you have to ring ford to get a ford technition to come out change the battery and rekey the computer
ive workd on VW vans if you leave the car unlocked for over 1/2 hour it will automaticly lock the doors even if the keys are still in the ingnition
the other day my battery went flat in my 97 hilux and i jumped it with the bosses car and drove it home without a battery connected id like to see some one do that with a new ute not F&%*ing likly
my panel van runns on three glass fuses and one of them is broken o and a bit of fuse wire rapped around two terminals and that got me from sydney to aulbry and back ok only just but it still made it idd like to see a moddern car do that in 50 years
be proud of what you got and dont let any one tell you what you should do with your van
also it looks realy realy kool

Re: Every Tradie should have one
Looks the goods!
I used my green HK van as my tradies van for about 5 years. Got a few battle scares in that time but over all worked out pretty well.
In one way I miss driving it every day, in the other way I know it's safe at home in the shed out of disrespectful peoples way.
Regards Jon

Re: Every Tradie should have one
yeh its funny poor old Vandil has'nt had much love lately with the new kid on the block and even though its got nowhere the same get up and go its still got that gutsy V8 note [ single 2' system dumped after diff housing] and is maybe more comfy for cruising....Me and the missus were joking around for a name for it and i was thinking something along the lines of a softer version of vandil ...she said dont tell me Sandil..i said perfect...and just like a sandil every time i get in it i get toey
