I use to drive for ceva when it was tnt
.That trailer was built for the porches cup cars
From memory it use to carry 6 around the countryside.
Most of there customers cars are uninsured
when being transported.
You would be so pis...d off if it was yours

the only insurace you can get for drag cars at least is for tranceport and storage so the datto should be covered and if it isnt the cage would have held it good tsed
the Porsche is sad
so is the ute but at least the door stil works

I cant believe you trusted them Andrew, I wouldn't.
I was so paraniod when the van came back into the country but I didn't really have a choice, as great as the WB is, she dont drive across oceans.
Ceva picked up my Sandman ute when we sold her to the guy in QLD.

It was just one of those things talking with the driver it was his first bingle in 20 odd years working for them I had to quote the repair job on the trailer today its going to be costly we were thinking it was a right off an till they told us how much a new trailer would cost
i know the worrys with getting a car transported I got my FJ brought up from Sydney to Dubbo many years ago only to see it hanging of the trailer by a crossmember when it came to my house

i work on late model dodge rams 2500 3500s and f250 350 650s and thay come and go on tilt trays
in a year of being there there have been three come off while loading
this is manly due to two things 1 the rubbish tyres that are on them and the tubs retain water untill you drive up a a steep angle and about a litre of water pours on to the back wheels even mahindras are better designed than large US utes

Re: sad day for some owners
Well guys heres the Camaro as it turned up on the truck, Note that I was not there when the driver took it off and when questioned why all the oil over his truck and when I checked my sump it was bone dry and he had driven it off, Not bloody happy and they can pay for any engine damage after ripping a hole in the sump, check out all the scratches all over the car, better not see me face to face......

Re: sad day for some owners
Thats a sorry sight mate, Id be looking for blood! You'd think a "professional" company would have more respect and care with a customers car especially with a rare car like this camaro. Hope everything goes well with collecting some sort of payment for the repairs

Re: sad day for some owners
I feel sorry for the Guy that tipped the Truck over and the Owners of the Vehicles that were damaged.
I'm ANGRY about the so called Professional Driver who delivered Andrew's Camaro. He gives other Truck Drivers and Transport Companies a BAD NAME!
I hope that they do the right thing by you Andrew.
The ***SWIPE that deliver my Son's Skyline from Qld couldn't get it off the Truck quick enough, forced him to sign for it and took off before he could look at it.
Needless to say that it was damaged in transit. A whacking great dent in the Guard to start with.
The Transport Company wouldn't honour the insurance as my Son had signed for it.

Re: sad day for some owners
There is alot of laziness in the towing/transport industry. There has been alot of changes but some of the "old school" drivers believe that there is no need for the changes. However they need to understand that the new load/unload ways are there for the safety of themselves and the cargo. For example.
When i load my ute or anyone else's pride and joy for that matter i use soft slings around the control arms if 2 tow points are not present or in good condition. Soft slings are rated at 2 tonnes each, they are also made of fabric so no paint chips left behind like when using hooks.
Once the front wheels have touched my tray a snatch strap is wrapped around one control arm or hub as a fail safe if the winch fails or equipment breaks then the car won't go far.
Once loaded 4 points of contact are used to strap the car down, this does not include the winch. Car is left out of park and handbreak left off. When you leave the car in park and handbreak on it will throw the straps off during transit.
I have had and accident while towing a car when some dumbass pulled out in front of me, wrote his car off, my truck got $20,000 worth of damage, but not a scratch on the car i was towing.

Re: sad day for some owners
Well good news on the car carrier front, I rang shannon's and explained what had happened to my Camaro and they where concerned that the car was sitting waiting for an answer from CEVA and organised a tilt tray to pick it up and take it to a place called Fiddys Customs in Manduarah Perth, he will store it untill we get an answer, as soon as it arrived at the Hotrod shop I receaved a call from CEVA who admitted liability and will pay all damages to the paint and motor.
Shannon's where great and said they would take over the talks with CEVA and get my Camaro better than before, Fiddy's customs will pull the motor out and rebuild if any damage and repaint the car, so good news for me. Cheers Andrew.

Gees that's rough Andrew, I cant believe the carnage they inflicted on your Camaro.
Although having said that when I watched the guy load our old Sandman ute onto the truck bound for it's new owners in QLD I thought to myself "if he has get it on and off that truck anymore times it'll be rooted by the time it gets there!"
