Artistic Updates
Hi Rob just finished reading the article on checkmate in street machine magazine, the drawings of an updated checkmate look awsome and it made me wonder how some of the other cutom vans would look with this sort of update.
As we have some budding artists in the majestic family maybe some of you could have a crack at updating your favorite van, something to do over the holidays lol.
P.S Rob defianatly go back to the jag diff!

Great pics, interesting ideas.
I like the ideas for the scoops on the sides and the altered paintjob. I am not sold on the single window though...
I like the big inch versions of the trans am snowflakes, I googled the year one TA to see what they look like in real life, I think they would look great on the revamped Checkmate!
I also like the side pipes exiting the side skirts, this is an idea I was planning for my van as I love side pipes but don't want to lose the ground clearance. It was an idea I loved on that purple 'Bundy' HQ Monaro that featured in Street Machine years ago. It had 'tear drop' type exhaust tips that exited through the sills, it looked trick as!
What are your ideas for it Rob?

When they asked if they could do one on the van I told them a few of my ideas, Aden combined a few of his into it too and it went from there.
I asked for the Year One wheels and headlights as my only requests and to keep it's identity.
Aden did the rest with input from Simo too.
I was amazed at the turn around time, I got asked on the 14th November! A month later it's done and in print!

Re: Artistic updates.
Hi Rob, I too have my copy of Street Machine and am blown away by the article. Wow A great Effort and result by all The talented people concerned. apart from two things I am not sure of. and wholly and soley my personal taste talking here of course. 1/ the full length side window. and 2/ I love the wheels and I assume they are close to standard diameter wheels Because really big diameter wheels would cause loss of Identity in my opinion no disrespect intended. so based on non big diameter wheels I absolutely love the whole concept especially the mirrored side scoops front and back. I also reckon the rear bar and lights up grade looks sensational, I Love the inbuilt side pipes beautifully executed but would love it equally with lakesides etc. The paint Scheme I am in awe of. With the necessary subtle changes it is instantly recognisable as Checkmate yet retains it's appeal and Identity in fact all of the the proposed changes have in my opinion Added even more appeal with respect of Identity firmly Intact I can't wait to see the result come to fruition. Love it, Bring it on I say. I have absolutely no doubt You will do Checkmate proud and can't think of safer hands of custodianship And say again I can't wait to see the end result. Cheers John.
