Re: NSW All Holden Day
Another hectic All Holden Day. Great to meet Neil, Cherone & family, Al and Ashleigh, Steve & Paula and a lot of other vanners and Holden nuts. Also to catch up with the usual crowd but never enough time when I am running around after a 2 year old.
Congrats to Neil & Cherone who got a sponsors Holden of the Day and to Al and Ashleigh who got one of the 10 top perpetual trophy awards for the day. Jennie and Rod also came away with a sponsors Holden of the Day for their Sandman Ute.
As Neil mentioned the vans (and friends of vanners) were a bit squashed but we made it worked and the amount of people in and around the vans all day was amazing. They still pull a crowd, that's for sure! I was just too far away from the people which said "Are Vans back?" to reply "They never left!". All ages still look in the back and come away smiling.
I have lost the camera somewhere in the unpacking but will upload some photos soon.
On a sour note we woke up at the motel this morning to find that one of the Parkes car club members had their car trailer flogged. It was locked to a tree to the side of the motel (with car in the locked garage) just out of range of the security camera. Just makes you sick! Poor Adam had hand built it especially for his Torana and only finished and registered it on Friday before the show. Insurance only covers you if it was stolen off the vehicle..... hmmmm Jennie has more details on her facebook page.
Stay vigilant people!

Re: NSW All Holden Day
I saw an FJ Pano in the swap meet area that had "VAN-054" and it was in the bi-centennial plates.
Why is it that the vans ALWAYS seem to get dudded when it comes to display spots??????
Congrats to all those that got awards, and i'm glad someone noticed my Vanrat shirt!!!!!

Re: NSW All Holden Day
Looks like if was a reasonable day. Lots of nice Vans to inspect.
Fres' interior is certainly something to study, although totally impractical for a full size human. Neat ideas from cabin to tailgate.
The White HR Van "Desire" I haven't spotted before. Murals look nice and tidy.
The usual yawn fest of neat and clean Sandman's to remind us what GMH came up with in the 1970's for Vanners without imagination.
Still they're great to inspect and admire. Sure to be a conversation about rivets, stripe colour or some such.
Pity everything was so condensed, atleast the dust was mostly covered.
Great showing of NSW Vans and congrats to the trophy winners in Neil and Cherone and Rodney and Jennie.
Good job with the pictures Jon, Did anybody else take any?
Regards, Smooth
