Van Names.....
I'm not a person that gives a name to a car unless there's a good reason. I've owned so many cars over the past 30 or so years and only a few have earned a name.
My 1st Panel van was "Heartbreaker", which evolved into "Time Machine".
After that I went through a lot of cars that were just "the van" or "the GTR" or whatever, until I built my SL/R5000 "MR GAS". I now also have an SL/R called "MR BAD".
As I got older, again the cars were just "the VH", "the VK", "the SS", "the Clubsport", you know what I mean...... only the special ones get a name.
So now I'm finally back in the Van scene again, I have a feeling I need to have a name for my van and I'm just not coming up with anything at the moment. I'm not asking for suggestions because naming a van needs to have a personal feeling about it, but what has been the inspiration for other peoples Van Names?
I was thinking about sticking with the "MR ..." theme, and "MR VAN" came to mind, but I think that's a bit presumptuous in that it eludes to my van being of a higher quality than it is (currently).
So, what inspired Your Vans Name?

Re: Van Names.....
John Roach named it for me.
When coming up with a name make sure it fits and ties into the theme of your van.
I've come up with heaps of names and themes over the years but won't live long enough to build them all. Lol
The WB started as The Zodiac but evolved into "Deeper Meanings" because its so much more than just a van to me. (The Zodiac will come later).

Re: Van Names.....
Mine was getting a "killer" theme..........
The Zodiac if you look him up was a serial killer that never got caught, very interesting case.

Re: Van Names.....
For myself, 'The last stand' suited the Vy van because it was the last panel van shaped Holden have done (VU through to VZ).
Later on the Kelly gang may feature into the van and with the last stand at Glen Rowen.
Cheers Jon

Re: Van Names.....
Haven't got a name for my van (only had it a month).
Because it is also my work van, I'm a road pilot/escort, I've been thinking of 'Highway Hooker' or Haulage Hooker'.
Not sure yet. May not worry about a name.

Name it "Highway Star" after the Deep Purple song!

Re: Van Names.....
Excellent! Just the kind of discussion I was looking for.
I fully understand that one will come, the others I've named have had good reasons and sort of fell into place.
My good mate is a motor trimmer and is currently stitching a VERY nice pair of seats, console, headliner, rear side panels, doortrims and a cut-&-laid carpet for me and was asking if I wanted a name stitched into the trim somewhere. That was what got me thinking, as I don't want to have to re-do it when I think of something cool.
The other reason was of course, number plates. I love custom plates, or at least ones that convey a message (like one of my Toranas has "BL08WN").
Keep 'em coming!

When it came time to name my van, we stood back and said she's not perfect. So i named her Imperfection, and it suits the van to a tee.

That's what I mean (not that I agree that your vans not perfect). You have a name that means something to you. Cool!

Re: Van Names.....
Just don't rush it
It will come in time and suit it perfectly,
And you will have no regrets on the name.
