Need freight help: Yarraville/Brooklyn area

Hi Guys,

I'm chasing help to pick up a large parcel in Melbourne's Brooklyn area that I need to get to Bathurst, NSW. Either via courier, postage, self delivery or similar.
Happy to pay all expenses and give praise where due. You would be helping out a fellow Vanner and I would be willing to return the favour at a later date etc.
Even if it just to pick-up and package for a courier to collect. I just want someone who will make sure the packaging is good before the courier etc.

Please let me know if you can help. I need it (pick-up) to happen in the next few days if possible.

if your not there I'm sure someone can bring it the rest of the way for you .

I'm not totally sure how large or small it can be. It is an awesome vintage push pram from the 1950's that I have purchased for my collection.



If the handle folds down that obviously will help a great deal and it looks like it does. We (Jon and myself) won't be able to attend the Van-In because Jon's missus is about to drop grandchild number 2 and family has to come first. It is a great pity we can't attend and really crap timing on Jon's behalf, he was obviously thinking with a different part at the time.

We have decided to push for the Mildura Van Nationals.

If you could pick it up for me that would be great and maybe package it for a courier or maybe we can tag team it to Bathurst via the Van-in? Maybe even Pack 'n" Send? I have just filled out their Pick-Up, Pack and Send online order form. God only knows if this is a good thing?

Gary has agreed to pick-up from Melbourne and bring to Albury for me. Great bloke is Gary for doing this for me. Always hate impossing on people but some of these ebay sellers just won't cooperate with interstate buyers.

I might be able to get it half way there is a 4Wd trip in the works to mt walker Jon was thinking of taking the new white box out for a play in the Mud

I'm going to Bathurst 1000 for the Saturday only, so if it came to Newcastle, i could pick it up during the week.
I'm leaving about 4am on the Saturday morning.

Thanks for all the offers. At this stage Gary is picking it up and will be taking it to Albury Van-In all things fitting in the Van etc.
I do need to confirm with somebody who may be willing to collect from Gary and bring it up my way. If that is Sydney and they would like a visit from me or Jon that would be fine. If someone happens to be coming to or through Bathurst even better.

None of it is in a hurry, that said I don't want it damaged due to a rush or lack of space. It's lasted 50/60 years and looks a nice thing.

I appreciate all the effort and offers so far. It's been terrific

No problems Smooth looks in good condition for the age handle is removable or fold down.
I will remove to transport so it does not damage paint in transit .
Size is no problem its smaller than I thought it would be as you can see by the picture it sits very low .
Parked nice and safe next to my van for tonight will be packed in van tomorrow night .
I think when you see it you will leave positive feedback .

Hi Gary,

It was a real pity we couldn't make it, but I do have my first Grandson (Born 2nd Oct) and everybody is well and healthy.
We are sure to catch up soon. Our intention is to make the 2014 Van Nationals in Mildura.

Yep no worries , see both of you then.

The "Royal EKA" arrived in Bathurst this evening after a flying visit to Neil and Cherone's today (5 hour run through the mountains).

Great to catch up today and many thanks to Gary, Neil and Cherone for all there help and cheers to Karl for helping Cherone lift it into the Angry Bird for the flight home.
