Re: Unique Cars - Sandman article
As is to be expected there a few errors in the story, but at least they are getting vans back in to the limelight.
Rather than a poorly researched history on the Sandman I would have liked to see an article more in line with what the story it was reported to be about on the cover. How they are going to be the next great aussie collectable, and what sort of prices they are pulling now. And maybe report on the growing popularity of panel vans again.
It would seem they are using archive photos from a previous article they did a few years back too. I have had this picture on my computer for a few years now:

Yeah the article doesn't really match the cover blurb does it.
I agree Karl it would've been better to see it from a collectable point of view.
200 HQ SS's were built........plus another 2600.

Yes there are some Technical errors in the write up, But it's still good to see any Van in a Mag . When I walk in to a news agent I always look at the covers if it has a van on it I buy it, and I don't have a real big stack

Unique Cars - SANDMAN Article
I supose any Article about any Van's & therefore "THE SANDMAN" is alway's GOOD,
As Calum said & i say..... My "VAN" book pile is NOT growing at a rappered rate either,
BUT YES,
as the Article said on the front cover.......
WHY THE "SHAGGIN" WAGON IS THE NEXT AUSSIE COLLECTABLE.....
Like the book..... not many around.
that's my say

I have just built a new house in town,Car port finished this week, back fence over next cupple of weeks then the shed, hopefully 2 no longer than 3 months 'I Hope'.
I have 2 Sandman van projects (HJ,HX) both start from nothing jobs and a Hj Kinga van with a 308 auto ute as the donor vehicle that will be shown on this site.
Of course I do have other vans inc the WB wreck i bought off you but they will just sit as yard fillers oh and yes i will be at the van nats on the Saturday.

I expected the same, I actually feel kind of ripped off actually, lol, because I own a Sandman I was lured by the siren song cover.
I want my money back,
