Yeah I spotted that!panoz78 wrote:I was eyeing off the h-series in the background.....
Here's a little Holden history Neil. You called it a "H-Series" they are actually a "W-Series Body Platform" and one reason they finished with WB.
Of course the "H" started with HD, HR, HK, HT, HG, HQ
It's all a bit odd but from HJ even the compliance build plate has them as W. You can check your own plate.
It will read 8WM70RXXXXXX etc Where the 8 = GM Australia W = Body Platform M = Luxury level (Base Holden) or (N = Kingswood) 70 = Panel Van R = Engine 253 (or T for 308 L = 202 etc)

Anyway I knew exactly what you meant I just thought I would throw in some Holden education for sport!

That's really quite interesting James,
But I don't have the memory for some things,like what grille is what model
exactly anymore ,I just care about how it looks and notice some of the mods done
along with the t.l.c . Occasionally I will get the model right

Mate even the grills test my memory. Holden had quite a few over a very short period of time.
Different versions for the HJ, HX, HZ releases and then the models;
Holden, Belmont, Kingswood, GTS, Premier, Statesman (DeVille, Caprice and SL/E).

Not to mention that the HJ HX HZ models are all interchangeable ,
No wonder us old buggers get confused so much after playing with them for so long..
