HZ GTS finally rego'd
G'day,
Bought this back in Feb but haven't been able to get ergo until a couple of weeks ago.
I'm very happy with it even though it's not the original colour, most of the work has been done, just some small stuff to tweak.
Oh and the seats need re-trimming if anyone knows where to get the tartan material could you please let me know.
Cheers Mark

Sweet as Mark!!
May I suggest upgrading the Spare Wheel to GTS or match the Mags when you can afford to?

That's something on the list Russell, the thing is they're 15x7 pontiac chromies (i presume).
Might just put a board over it for the time being.

What a beautiful car, well done mate.
Would have to be one of the best handling early holdens built.

Knowing you Mark, I thought it would be.
A board sounds good.
There was a place selling the 15" Pontiac Rally Wheels in various widths up to 10" here in Aus about a year ago. I'll have to do a Google Search and find a link for when you're ready.

Hey Mark.
Nice Z mate silver with the blackouts love it.
Angelique drove a HZ kingswood as a family car for years it was a good stearer much better than the early chassis.
Grey tartan fits nicely with the silver.
Joe.

Love it, great score Mark.
What colour is it and what was the factory colour?
Your dad's old HZ is still here in town, next time you're up we'll have to catch up mate.

Thanks Rob,
It was originally Chamois with Buckskin interior, same as the old mans, and is now Aztec Silver Metallic.
Been a while since we've had a chinwag, will drop in next time.
Cheers Mark

Re: HZ GTS finally rego'd
G'day all,
One project that has happened on the Z is new/rebuilt brakes.
Here is a pic of the new front rotor and rebuilt PBR caliper.
Also did the booster, master cylinder, proportioning valve and lines but don't have any good photos of them.
Nothing too exciting but there hasn't been much to look at here for a while, we are all too busy.
Cheers

Re: HZ GTS finally rego'd
G'day Again,
Thanks, these are older projects but new pictures are always good.
The old Performer inlet manifold was Dribble oil out front and back where it mated to the block, as they do, so I removed it and got it all cleaned up and pretty.
Got the front cooler jackets welded up, put it back on and coolant came out of three of the eight bolts at front and back, it was rooted.
Bought a new Proflow one, which is basically a cheaper Performer copy.
After a couple of hours die grinding the ports and bolt holes to fit the existing it was installed and no more leaks.
Also removed the old 650 vac secondary Holley and installed a new Brawler 650 vac sec, which is a tight Bottom version of the Holley with more adjustments than the old one.
Result is that there is minimal difference in performance between the new and old manifold but there is a quicker initial throttle response with the carby.
Cheers.
