I see you got to hang out with with "Flower Power". Looks to have done an opening in the rear (of sorts) since I last saw it.
Would have liked to have been there. But never got an invite or entry form. Glad somebody shared their photos.
Who won?

Thanks Smooth.
Joe did a great job putting the pinstripes on, hoping to do more to the car as the Q gets further down the line.
I have really enjoyed getting to know more about the HBD( ute with canopy not!) noticing the differences between the two. Have had the privilege of speaking with Chris, Steve and Sue at Amcat whom have been more than helpful with any questions I have had about the fibreglass canopy.
Both Joe and I would have loved to have seen you at the Nats so that we could pick your brain more.......MWAH more input!!!!!!
Regards Angelique.

That's great you have gained a real interest in the HBD Sandman and the AMCAT versions. Nice that the AMCAT people are supportive.383 wrote:Thanks Smooth.

Had I made it to the Nats I would have loved nothing more than to crap on about these models and anything Vanning - new or old.
Maybe if the excitement and interest was built up a little on this forum and elsewhere that would have happened. Been pretty quite here for a long time.
I weighed things up and didn't feel I'd done enough changes to "Innuendo" since the last Nats and we had a lot of other things on the our plate.
It's always with regret when I see the photos
:Soapbox Warning:serendipity wrote:all the info was on the events page with links to forms ect etc.
Yes the info was here on the forum and likely elsewhere on the internet. My point is as an entrant last year I should have receive an entry form in the post.
If not, contact via email or even a phone call. All the talk (what little there was), was all pretty negative about Moe. I was told about previous sponsors not being contacted and others who sponsored a certain category, after excepting the cash get told we've moved your sponsorship to another trophy (poor form). Now if I lived in Melbourne or country Victoria and likely would have made the trip. But being told the "Moe hole" was a dust bowl and it's going the rain.
While I accept I'm rarely walking to the beat of somebody else's drum.
If people don't feel good about "the vibe" you lose attendants.
Maybe next year?

Re: Van Nats Moe 2016
As most will be aware Karl suffered from a leaky water pump in the vz.... Yes the new addition.
So once she was repaired it was unanimous that we all jump in our vans and go for a cruise to the local water reservior, just for something different....... Other than sitting around the camp site.
Dam paparazzi they come in senior and junior variety now....
Nice line up huh..
It's ok Cazzie I've got it.....

Re: Van Nats Moe 2016
Thanks for sharing your pics guys!
What a great time we all had!
Of course mine didn't start to well with the water pump in the VZ failing at 11.00 the night before leaving... I thought I would be able to nurse it down there and fix it once we got there, but it became obvious after the eighth or so time we pulled over to fill it up with water that it was not going to be an option!
We left the VZ at a small fruit and veg place on the side of the highway near Bunyip, loaded our gear into the other vans, and Trish and Ella hopped in with Joe and Angelique in each of their vans and we continued the trip to Moe.
Upon arrival the situation was explained to Rod who generously offered to hook up his car trailer and head back down the highway to pick up the stranded VZ. Rod's trailer was built to tow 'The Player' and is very well engineered. Loading the van was a cinch, and within a couple of minutes of arriving to pick up the van, we were back on the road back to the Nationals campsite.
With the VZ safely on site, it was parked up to be dealt with the next day, and so began our Nationals experience at Moe!
Friday was spent catching up with everyone, introducing ourselves to new people and generally settling into camp.

Re: Van Nats Moe 2016
First thing Saturday morning I took off to Super Cheap to see if they had a water pump for an LS1, I wanted to be sure that I could get hold of one before the cruise, or at least make a start in locating one as soon as possible. Luckily they had one in stock, and they also had a sale on so I scored 20% off!
I also ducked into the bottle shop to grab something for Rod to show my appreciation.
With that sorted out in good time, I headed back to camp in time to get ready for the cruise to the Holden Museum at Trafalgar. Angelique has shared some great pics from there, so I won't go doubling up on them here. It was a great display and also very interesting. It was great to see Efijy in the flesh again and also to see a bit of the history of Holden prior to the release of 'Australia's Own'. It was interesting to learn that Frigidaire household appliances were built along side the cars at the Holden plant. There was also a good display of vehicles assembled at Holden's before producing their own vehicles.
After the tour of the Holden museum we headed back to camp and I got stuck straight into replacing the water pump on the VZ. I had a bit of an audience watching on and a couple were keen to see how long it would take me after I had read on line that it could be done in under an hour! It was a fairly straight forward exercise in the end, and I did manage to complete it within the hour too!

Re: Van Nats Moe 2016
Once the Silver van was fixed it was decided that we really needed to take it for a drive to give it a test run... a hundred kms round trip up to Thomson Dam should do the trick!
So while many around the campsite settled in to an afternoon of polishing their vans in preparation for the Show and Shine the next day, a few of the Majestics crew jumped in the vans and cruised up to the dam, leaving the grey skies of Moe behind and arriving in the glorious sunshine at Thomsons Dam.

Re my van best display 2016 Moe van nats
Hi all, it was nice to see a pic of my orange beddy on this page, i won best display. For those who dont know me my name is Alan, i also own the Humungus machine that i was invited to bring along to the van nats. This was my 3rd nats but my first with an entered van. Last year i bought my madmax goose bike along but have since sold that, but it was at the nats this year though, next to my machine.
Since the nats i have aquired a new van, well havnt got it as yet but i have put a deposit on it, i hope to have it within a month. I bought a well known van known as Foxy Lady, also known as Spliced. I am not in a van club although i do know a few in wasteland vanners, so i sorta hang around them.
So if anyone has any old pics of Foxy Lady i would to see them, alot have been turning up on my facebook which gives me a insight into the history of the van.
I dont know what at this stage i am going to do with it, but my son is over the moon his ol man bought an old show car. I may do some ol school things on it as on previous builds but dont want to take away what the owner now has done in the last five or so years. Only time will tell i spose.
cheers and thanks for letting me onto your site, although i still have to figure out how to put pics on.

Yeh i saw all the pics there, Andrew told me to join here and have a looksie. Some of the pics go way back and my son spoke to Ken the other week too, he invited us to Geelong for a show in feb so we may end up there with the car, but i will probly trailer it to events to far away.
I will be catching up with Andrew Queens birthday wkend in Lakes Entrance which is just down the road from me for the hotrod event there, weil do some cruising im sure.
I see Vanrat is on the road and back in Vic again, id luv to catch the van and get some pics, i did hear that Foxy & Vanrat got married, be great if someone had pics of that and what year it was.
I have just joined the VCV so this is a new era for me and my wife.
