Where did the idea for the Design of L88 Bonnet Scoops/Bulges come from?

The L88 Chevrolet Corvette of course. 1970's circa.

I'm tempted to add this to Technical Info as I think its a great record of what was available and what they were worth all those years ago.

Feel Free to add any relevant Pics or Ads you've scanned. Troy has a few in his New Project Directory.

Just a bit of an update:

Rob and I recently acquired a similar Front and Guards just like these only a bit better looking. It looks like an original Recaro/Mystere Front.

One of those Rainy day Projects.

I'll upload a couple of Pics.

I love these old fronts. I passed one up at a local swap me last year. he couldn't give it away. I went back later but he'd packed up.
Oh and my father-in-law builds fiberglass off shore race boats and other bits. He is trying to retire but all the stuff is still here.

Got me one of these too in the shed for now, originally for an escort but I removed 2inches through the middle so it fits the XW.

Post  VANDIL Sun 11 Dec 2011, 10:41 am

I loved the Commodore front when they came out, a mate bought a van that had one on because he liked it so much ( He was a Ford man) and shortly afterwords hit a tree with the van and wrote it off, god I loved that front, it had been built with SL/E wipers etc on the headlight, made my HX standard front look like Woopsie, Rusty you should start making them as well, Cheers Andrew.
