I work In a steel mill, same deal, effing hot working up the top of the lines, especially on hot days like we've had today. Molten metal zinc and a hot strip running through it.
Beers with the boys, listening to some tunes, that's the go tonight!

Don't worry about that, mine has heaps and heaps of faults, I'm just happy that I can drive it. Looking forward to the van in and checking out everyone's pride and joy!
One day I will do the whole rebuild on mine again from scratch, until then I will make little improvements and just enjoy cruising in it.

Yeah i know it, i lived in Wagga back in 92-94 and worked for a local electrical company that did maintenance out there, it was one of my babies along with Cargil, the tannery place, the wool scourer place and the place where they make sausage skins out of sheep intestines. I remember it was pretty hot fixing lights around the press at plywood, it was just bloody hot at Wagga in general, and then down to -8 in the workshop in winter.
Cheers Mark

Re: The MV Pub
Haha wow small world. The mill has changed alot since then. We now have both the same presses we had then but also have a 36 daylight. Then there is a new drier which is 4 times the size of the old one and also a new lathe. It's huge out there now. They've doubled the size of the mill

Yep I think we're all the same. We all drive our cars (or will when they're finished :-/) so noone expects em to be elite show cars. I'm excited to see any old girl cruising the streets these days no matter what brand or what condition.

Re: The MV Pub
All Green Slips now show the MCIS (Medical Care and Injury Services) Levy as a separate item.
The MCIS Levy first appeared as a separate item on Green Slips in 2006 with the introduction of the Lifetime Care and Support scheme. This scheme provides medical care, treatment, rehabilitation, attendant care and support to anyone catastrophically injured (such as severe spinal cord and/or a traumatic brain injury) for the rest of their life.
The MCIS Levy also includes a contribution for ambulance, hospital and other services for people injured in a motor vehicle accident. These costs have always been included in your Green Slip premium, but were not listed as a separate item in the past
The MCIS Levy is calculated as a percentage of the base premium charged by the Green Slip insurer. The MCIS Levy is GST free
The percentage of the levy differs between vehicle classes and geographic zones based on accident and injury rates for the selected vehicle type and zone.
