after market lower tailgates

has anyone had one of these and are they a good fit? just bare metaled mine and it has serious tow bar dents and rust issues, cheers

I have one about to fit it up to the HJ van.

Doesn't feel as thick as an original gate. But looks as though it should bolt up ok.

Think Rob fitted one to his HZ sandman ute.

Ive got one fitted to to my van Ramble. It fitted up with no issues. Is a bit lighter but you still get that heavy holden "thump" when you close it so Im pretty happy with it.
All the fittings and hinges bolted up with out much trouble.
Hope my experience helps your decsion.

the one i put on our van was a taiwanese one which had to be modified because it was a ute one but in saying that everything else lined up thanx wizard

Yea they fit fine. Have to notch the corners to suit van. Be careful though as the injury to my fingers was as a result of the edges not being rolled over properly and they are razor sharp.

i remember the injury troy, but they are sounding better than the pile of crap i have here

It's a 1 inch by 1 inch square that you have to cut out of the top outer corners to clear the rear pillar area.

You can see it on the upper left of the gate.

Yeah as SMQQTH said I fitted one to my old white Sandman ute, not as heavy or solid as the originals but went on well with no issues at all.
