Fuel and Temp needles

Ok i got my new gauge set, and find the temp and fuel needles sitting in the bottom of the glass.How do i put them back in the correct place ??????? Can anyone help me.They look like they clip in some how but i'm not sure.And yes its a ford

if they are electric gauges usually you dead short them to get full, hot reading and set the needles there, happt to be corrected on this cheers andrew
