the first van was a Jamacian Lime (Green) HJ Sandman with a 253 V8 and 4 speed manual. We were members of the Ballarat club, Southern Cross Vanners. If anyone knows anything about the Southern Cross Vanners club, I would love to hear from you. Unfortunately, we had to sell that van when the first child came along. In about 1995, we bought another HJ Sandman which was also green but had been repainted and was in terrible condition. In 2006, we bought the current van which is also a HJ (Blue) and was in much better shape. Over time, it needed a freshen up. Now it is currently it is in a state of restoration and hopefully will be ready next year.

A Great Story and Van you have there.

Pete Fressard used to run the Southern Cross Vans Site. I think it shutdown years ago. Quite a few of us were on it.

Dear Majestic Vanners,

please see a picture of the first Panel Van from 1976. It was a 1975 Sandman 253, 4 speed manual. We were a lot skinnier then and the hair was pretty over the top compared to how it looks now.

Rusty, I tried the link you offered  Southern Cross VANS
https://www.facebook.com/groups/24456281247, but it doesn't work. Maybe I need access from Pete Fressard. Any info on the Southern Cross Vanners club would be appreciated.

Thanks
Kaye and Wayne

Welcome Aboard Kaye & Wayne welcome

My Apology for the slow reply. To be honest I thought I had but must have been side tracked part way through.

That is a Sweet Ride you had.

"We were a lot skinnier then and the hair was pretty over the top compared to how it looks now." LOL! lol! I think that happened to most of us!

Bugger that the Link doesn't work! It works for me, perhaps because I am a Member of the Page. It does say that anyone can find it and that it's visble to anyone. sad1

Perhaps contact Peter Fressard on FaceBook. This is a link to his Home Page: Pete Fres

Fingers Crossed!
