Re: Majestics 2011 Calendar
yes im a believer of the whole, going out in pristine condtion is not acceptable, want to go out with a very worn out body that had a veyr good full life theres an actual saying for that but having a fibro flare brain fog thing at the minute.
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!"
thats it

Hi Rob, if I hurry I might just get it finished in time for the calendar. It will certainly look better than the original photo. Should be totally finished in two to three weeks.

Re: Majestics 2011 Calendar
Okey dokey folks - time for an update to this calendar thread.
After a chat with Rob some time ago, we decided that for our very first calendar, we might make it a bumper edition - 18 months, starting July 2011 and running through to the end of 2012.
Why? Here are the reasons:
1. There's not enough time to do it justice for the beginning of 2011
2. Members have some sweet rides, and this way we can feature 18 vans
3. It give a few of those who are "in the build" time to finish and get some pictures of their completed van
4. It give other people who want to be in the calendar time to get a nice hi-resolution photo of their van.
5. I can shop around for the best printing price.
If everyone is cool with the idea, I'll put a timetable up here, and also put together some specifications of what we need in terms of photos that will look good in print.
Feedback welcome.
Cheers

Re: Majestics 2011 Calendar
I'd like to see as much diversity as possible. Holden Panno, Bedford, Transit, Escort, Ford Panno, Toyota, Gemini (if there is one in the club).
The photos just have to be worthy of someone looking at them for a month.
Of course, photos of vans with a girl will get priority.....

Re: Majestics 2011 Calendar
I'd like to see a variety of MV vans in it from all states too.
James if your going to have a nude chicky babe with the esky can you please, please please make sure she's aged between 18 to oh around 30? Last thing we want is pics of some old flogged out 50 year old who thinks shes 18 still darkening our calender!
I think with the 18 month idea it extends our time frame and the end result will be more MV worthy, I glad Perry has taken on the task of producing this, I think he'll do an awesome job of it.
Being our first calender Perry, you might have to add "Collectors Edition" on the front!

Re: Majestics 2011 Calendar
i think its a top idea, because hopefully the gemini will be ready by then
and as for the bedfords, i tried to get a guy i met at singleton car show to jump on here, because he has 2 bedfords, ones red, flairs, interiour was done by craig goodbee, and the other is white, flairs, 308, jag rear end, called the innocents, with some really soft airbrushing

Re: Majestics 2011 Calendar
Here's my contribution to the calendar
"Nothing like a windscreen wash in a clear mountain stream !!"
On a practical note:
When you're sizing the "calendar" area (the bit where you write stuff) make the margins as small as possible (ie, squares as big as possible because, let's face it, after you've looked at the pictures, a calendar is useless if there no room to write stuff!
Cheers
