Spotto... 2 Tonner Tandem...

I have wanted to put a Van body on a tandem chassis for a while... but that is one dream that may have to wait till Lotto comes in.

But I still like the look of Tandem/6 wheel Tonners... and a few years back almost bought one (should have, but didn't).

This one has been for sale local (Lower Central Coast, NSW) for a while, so I decided to see the owner and take some pics. He even name dropped an MV member as being his neighbour (I think he was more proud of that, than his car )

So here are some of the pics... I really need more practice with this new camera, all the auto features and I still can't take a decent pic.

Very cool and a nice price.
My uncles team mate (Old Man Emu Racing) back in the late 70's had one brand new. His then toddler son was walking along the side of the cab banging on it with a hammer! I would of killed him.
I thought I'd seen pics somewhere of a Van version built? Anyone?

There was a van from the ACT that was a six wheeler called Forty Acres. That two tonner looks like one from Gundagai, Well's Plumbing use to own. I'd love to snap this one up!

I'm not sure of the name of this one... and I think it is an article from CU&V... but it is a borrowed image and I'm not 100% sure of the source.

Rob, wish I could grab it.... would be fine as is... even better as a base for some wild creation.

That van is Forty acres. If I could score that 2 Tonner i'd just change the wheels and mirrors, lower the front, V8 it and cruise!

Yep... and if Rhino parks AlleyCat out in the street... I'll grab some happy snaps of it to. But I'm guessing that he will be keeping it under wraps until the resto is complete.

I'm just a few minutes away... in Umina. Not close enough to the beach to walk there easily... but close enough so that the salt air kills a car in no time at all.

i use to holiday at the Ocean Beach caravan park at Umina when i was a kid

anyone know what happened to 40 Acres? did it ever get the back decked out

On the way to a friends for New Years eve and SPOTTED the 2 Tonner again...

This is not where such a rare vehicle should be seen and it's not a pretty sight...











All car enthusiasts, regardless of favorite Make or model, will recognise the loss of such a rare vehicle.

What I can not say is if anyone was hurt and I sincerely hope that all involved are ok.

The old dodgy bombyard behind my warehouse had an HZ 2 tonner with straight gas 308/th400/9" for sale for ages. Not sure if he sold it before he got kicked out, old workmate was looking at buying it. Iirc he had $8k on it and it wasn't actually that bad, rough but not rooted.
