Relax! I dont want to borrow it

I want to build my own, big enough to carry a HG van, with minimal weight.

What do you carry on your trailer? How big is the floor area?

I built mine using all the good and re-arranging the bad from all the trailers I've used over the years. Max width allowed is 2500mm, mine is 2497. The bed is 4 meters long 8m lengths cut in half. It's a tilt type and pivots in front of the front axel, again 6m cut in half for the draw bar. I made it as low as practical to get high cars down, dropped axels, 13 inch wheels with LT tyres - this allowed for lower mudguards so you can open a low car door when it's on the trailer, and no side marker lights on top of the guard for the door to crash into as well. Most important is axel group placement and as long a draw bar as practical. I've towed all sorts of cars all over the place and it's great.

I helped a mate build a beaver tail trailer. solid axles. tyres under the bed. if the worst happen at the track. you could get under the trailer to work under the car. I will try to get some pics

Yep, the Helmont fits on 12 x 6 bogie trailer, trailer weighs about 580kg so all up just under 2000kg limit on the axles.
