Vans may not feature this week as it is a three part series, but should be worth a look anyway!

A couple of vans at the start, looks like next week might be the go. They might just be using panel van teasers for advertising.

Re: ABC Tonight - Wide open road' features VANS!
Thanks for the heads up.
I don't watch much TV... well, not on TV anyway... I watch most everything on line. I work shift work and miss most shows... but catch up on the shows I like eventually.
The upside... watch what i want, when i want and no ads!
The downside... no ads to let me know when a good special or doco is on
So I read this thread after it had aired and found a link for anyone who wants to watch online...
http://www.abc.net.au/iview/#/view/839823
(should ad this) I will be at work when the 'encore' showing is aired... so I have to watch online or miss out.
Saw the first few mins... and looks interesting. (Paused it to drop the link here)

I have watched both episodes so far and I have really enjoyed them,I would like to know if the sandman that Steve Bisley is sitting on thr back of the tailgate is his though, also I liked it when they were showing the early days of Bathurst and black eyed bruiser playing in the back ground by Stevie Wright that is a great song.

Hey tony,
The sandman is owned by Rod and Jennie Barnes. They are on mysandman.com forum. I met them at the nationals, and are friends on Facebook. That is how I found out about the series. Their sandman has been immaculately restored with no expense spared, it is a real credit to them.
Cheers,
Karl.

Re: ABC Tonight - Wide open road' features VANS!
Awesome series!
But when reality hits... there probably will be a day when the petrol bowsers run dry and stay dry...
Years ago I built a basic 'electrolysis' unit... turning water into gas... even hooked it up to my HZ at the time... but still needed petrol and there is also the risk of rusting the motor from the inside out.
I'll have to finish my Van quick and get as many years of ROAR as I can before we are completely chased off the roads by laws and taxes... sure I want safe roads and clean air... but I want my V8 also...
Long live the dream

Most modified cars are safer and contribute less pollution than other types of vehicles, we dont do as many km's as an everyday car and after spending so many dollars, we're not going to risk destroying it.
I'm giving my vans to my boys but by the time they're old enough to drive them, there probably wont be fuel as you said.
Cheers Rob

Re: ABC Tonight - Wide open road' features VANS!
I just watched the last episode, bloody awesome. Brocky sure left an impression on the people who new him, good and bad. It was interesting to hear Bev say he had told her he had stopped dreaming his races and lost his timing. Must have just been too hard to walk away.
