Multiple usernames..........same person.

Hey guys just a quick post, discovered something very interesting earlier. Thought I'd do some checking of stats for the forum and it's users to see how we are progressing and discovered we have a few users on here using multiply names.
It's all very interesting because they haven't registered twice to get on due to problems logging on, they've actually had conversations on here between their different usernames and backed each other up after starting arguments with other members.
If you cant stand on your own two feet and feel the need to create another username to back up your less than water tight arguements, p1ss off.
We try and maintain an open and honest forum here, that's what the introduce yourself thread is about so we all know who we're talking to and to make it a friendlier place. (Ironically enough, they've introduced both their usernames! Just used their real name for one and a pseudonym for the other!)
I wont name names but they know who they are and this wont be tolerated.

That is seriously warped? The idea of this like many forums is to share information and meet new people with the same interests.
Obviously whoever this is don't share the same ideals as the rest of us?

its definately not 2 different people from the same home, same computer is it? They may share an email account or something? though i am always thinking the best of people LOL

I'm a mod on another site,and if we get two people from the same ip address ? we refer it to the owner of the site.If he says yes, they stay but otherwise by by.

It's two users that have posted from the same two IP addresses on numerous occasions. We have banned their second username and we'll see if they play nice now, otherwise they're gone.
It's not right to hide behind a username and create multiple ones to back up your stories.

wow bit creepy! people go to a lot of effort to be mean or do silly things like pretend to be 2 different people on forums. its so much easier being a nice normal person ive seen a lot of those 'troll' people in the forums i visit. they come on just to cause trouble, and i never see the point, i htink most of them would be silly little 12year olds who think they are being awesome LOL!
same with keyboard warriorism! so many are brave behind their computer screen but wouldn't even say a bad word to a fly in real life!! that annoys me LOL.

On other forums thier called abandoned hitchikers,and thier posts get deleted.

I have just logged on, i havn't been on the site for a few weeks now. I have just read this thread about multiple identities from users. This thing happens on many forums and vanning is not alone here, it also happened on the SXV site.

I am not looking at starting an arguement here, just stating my observation. I find it interesting to see the way it has been handled. Should Admin make it public and maybe hope that the colprit or colprits be outed and named and shamed so that others on the site can go in with all guns blazing and have their say on what should be done about it and have the opportunity to hand out a little abuse or should they be more professional about it and contact the user or users directly by phone or email or even PM them and keep it behind closed doors and try to find out why it is being done and come to a conclusion and keep the other users out of it? I think the later is more credible. Admin says there are "a few" users doing this, lets hope all these people get contacted and sorted out diplomatically.

Well i am going to tell you who one was. It was ME. Yes me. Vanner065 and Tailgater. I am coming out and admitting it to all, i am man enough to do so and i will give you the reasons why.

i guess some of you may be a bit shocked i did this, some may not be. If you are one that was not surprised then you really don't know me that well. It is not in my nature to do this as i am a very open person, i stick up for what i believe and admit when i am wrong and if you don't know me personally then you can believe what you want. So now i will give you the reasons why.

Since joining this site i have had a few people who like to disagree with many things i say and like to try to prove me wrong. I respect the right for people to believe what they want but after a while of constant disagreements about a certain subject, i guess i had had enough and decided that i would create a profile character to try back me up and try to change the mind of doubters to be more believers. I remember some time ago it wasw said that when one person makes negative comments about a vehicle, others tend to believe it especially when they have not seen it in real life. Only one other person on this site has seen XX since i have owned it so no one here can make true judgement on the van except me and the other person. I really take offense to people who continually doubt when they have no proof and i have all the proof. So that is why i decided to create Dale (Tailgater). His aim was to back me up in things i said and even some times say things i didn't totally agree with to make him more real. At no point was he there to cause trouble or hurt any one. I don't think anyone was offended by anything that was said by him.

So in the end, Tailgater was just me, no harm done to anyone. My plan was for him to back me up and then i was going to delete his profile. You may of noticed he has not been on for a while, i had him do what i wanted him to do and was no longer needed. Yes i told a few white lies, only to try to get the doubters believe me. There was no intention to cause trouble or harm which i am sure did not happen. It was all my idea and no one elses.

If people want to think bad of me then that is up to them. For those who really know me they will know i am a guy who sticks up for what he believes but i also admit when i am wrong. I hope these people understand why i did what i did and will forgive and forget. Please do not reply if you want to have a go at me and point out the negatives, i know what they are, please don't reply if you want to abuse me as it will not change anything.

So i would like to officially say Sorry and if i hurt anyone or mislead any one, sorry again, no harm was meant to anyone. There are many good people on this site, some times we agree some times we don't. Looking back i maybe should of just let the non believers think what they want and leave it at that. So there you are, once again sorry.
