Bathurst Convoy from Melbourne
I know it's still another few sleeps (about 70) but just wondering who is going from Melbourne and when and where are you departing from and stopping overnight if you're not going straight through.

Re: Bathurst Convoy from Melbourne
I'll be headed up on Tuesday morning to help set up.
Only a 5 hour drive from Albury. About 450km if I head up through Wagga. Longer if you go up the Freeway.
Rethink, I might take the Freeway to up past Gun-Daggy then cut across to Young bypassing Coota. About 450km, but 110km/hr on Freeway apart from Roadworks.

Hey Russ,
Last year I went up to Bathurst for Autofest. Took the Hume and turned off at Coolac (just after Gundagai) which is probably the same way you're talking about. Looks a bit windy on the map, but I found the drive fine, and there were plenty of car trailers going that way too.

Thanks Rohan
I've been across that way before (via Tumut, only a couple of years ago) and I agree the road was pretty good.

Re: Bathurst Convoy from Melbourne
We are thinking we will be leaving Melbourne on Thursday morning and driving to Gundagai on the first day, staying overnight somewhere in that area, and heading on to Bathurst Friday morning arriving around lunchtime.
How does this work for those who want to travel with us?

Re: Bathurst Convoy from Melbourne
Does 'staying overnight' mean sleeping in the van or a posh motel or something?
