Hi folks, just cottoned onto this thread so will try and give it a nudge too! Back in the first couple of pages you mentioned different vans sharing the same name and I seem to remember a few called 'Shady Lady' - a yellow SA Sandman and a QLD bronze Holden which was tough.

Loved reading about Mr Damage, it is one of my all-time favourite Vans and I was the clown responsible for the Street Machine mag Time Machine story on 'Mr Damage' and also on Neil Dieckmann's silver FJ Van and am always looking for a good Van story for this section (will chase you up Rob for Checkmate if you're keen).

A quick but maybe difficultish double question about another Van I'm about to feature:

1. What was the name of one of Brisbane's first high quality showvans (a black Holden in the 70's) that had a trailer accident on the way to 2. Sydney's first big Van Show held at what in where??

I dont know what ever happened to Mr Damage, there's a couple of different theories, I seem to go with the one in Street Machine, but the other one I heard was it got painted in primer and was being used as a tradies van. I know where some of it's original parts are but that's about it.

The questions an interesting one for sure............I know Sheer Heart Attack got damaged on a trailer but it was a Ford from the N.T. So I'll have to research some more unless the kings of van trivia Tony and Ron solve it in the mean time!

Thanks Rob and will be in touch, Leon Harris still has many parts from the Van in his bar at home including the one piece tailgate, bonnet and header panel and sold it ended up at Redcliffe Ford wrecking before being bought by a local who was allegedly going to rebuild it - there was a letter in a CV&T mag where he shows a pic of it as he's bought and what his plans were. I'll try and find it and see what it says exactly.

The trivia Van survived the trailer debacle and went on to have a great career locally. It was never featured in any Van-specific mags but featured in a couple of those generic 'Hot Holdens' and 'Hot Custom Car' type mags. It was a HK-T-G type Van and its owner was a member of Super Vans Inc. here in Bris. Maybe it was too local for its day, so apologies if I've missed the mark with the intent of this thread!

Spot-on Rob! A great van in its day and it was still in that guise up until the late 90's.

Name the Albury/Wodonga based van that was Atlantis Blue, had bubble windows, Statesman front and tunnel rammed 308?
It was featured in C,V and T and also won awards at the van nats.
